1. PRICE NOW [s]£150[/s] £125

Popular combo with warm tone and lots of power. Now out of production.

Lives in Haslemere, Surrey. Collection preferred due to weight. Courier possible at cost.

Also travel along M1 and M40 regularly so may be able to deliver.

Excellent condition, its had an easy life. Though never sure about the accuracy of the VU meter, as on all my past Ashdown gear it seems more for decoration. Even the manual says 'gives an indication'.

    Comes with manual.

Can't upload picture, but easy to find on Google with full specs.

  2. For sale, my Ashdown 1 x 12" combo.

Excellent condition, though the Vu meter does nothing more than give a pretty light.

Loads of eq and effects options.

Its heavy at 25Kg, so pick up preferred. Though I do regularly travel M1 and M40 so could arrange meeting place.

Can't upload picture, but there are lots on Google

  3. NOW SOLD -

I had this for sale a couple of years ago, but my son kidnapped it. It has now come back to me, and it is now for sale again.

For Sale, my Traben Phoenix 35" scale bass.

It is very hard to photo due to quilted type finish. The wood is a very dark green and this is not a current colour for the model, The inlays on the fretboard are amazing.

It is different form the current model in their catalogue, which is now a 34" scale and now seems to be only available as a five string.

It has been serviced, restrung and setup by my local bass-tech.

Well balanced, and light this is a joy to play. Lots of tone.

Reason for selling - too many basses, and I need the room.

Would prefer collection, as it has no case so I don't want to box it up to post.

    I am near Guildford..

  4. Took my new wonderful new bass with top notch active pickups to play in church band rehearsal this weekend. Practice completely disrupted by squawks and feedback from the sound system. Very puzzled that turning down, and even unplugging the bass made little difference. Eventually worked out it was due to the hearing loop.

It took me back to a gig a couple of years ago at a conference venue, when sound in rehearsal was dire. Then the lead guitarist riffs started coming out of the rhythm guitarists back line amp! Yes - it was the hearing loop, and we had to dismantle the sound desk to get to disconnect it. Lost most of our set up time and sound check - result was a very poor gig.

So this time I had to swap my bass to one with less sensitive pickups, and stand right at the back of the stage and just about got away with it.

I hate hearing loops! Are there gadgets to get round this problem? The church sound engineer said that wrapping the bass in kitchen foil solves the problem, but I felt this was not helpful.

  5. Price reduced to £[s]500[/s] now £450

Purchased 18 months ago from a Bass Chatter, almost new. Now up for sale again. I have just suffered a bad attack of GAS and purchased a beautiful and very expensive bass, and now need the funds. So not interested in trades.

The bass lives in Haslemere, near Guildford.

This is the spec, from the previous listing:-

    *THE UNIQUE SOUND / Esh-Tronic

The Piezo bridge combined with the patented Esh-tronic delivers one of the best Piezo sounds available. Together with a studio direct out, it provides the professional player with a very flexible and perfect tone.

This special system is the perfect circuit for the active EMG pick ups and our USP, the finest Piezo-Design. The Esh tronic is your "command"-knob to switch several circuits:

    a. Direct Out. For studio use, a direct out for the EMG pickups which bypasses all the electronics.

    b. Magnetic Pick ups only. In combination with the toggle switch knob you can think of it as a preset

    c. Magnetic and Piezo Pick up. This combines the "best of both worlds"

    d. Piezo only. This is an unbelievable deep sound, precise and clear with a full low end.

The pick-up system is powered by one 9 volt battery. If you were to play 8 hours a day the battery would still last you a year due to the tiny amount of energy that it uses. I
