1. ***SOLD***

Boss TU2 Tuner. Boxed and in good condition. No idea why but I have two.

I will take photos this evening if necessary.

    £40 inc P&P

  2.
I sold one at the weekend taking me down to two; I don't need to own two, I just like both of them.

Neither is really my primary bass, and neither is backup. They even sound quite similar!
UPDATE

Provided the sale of my '57 Precision goes as planned on Saturday I'll be down to just the Rick. Feels quite liberating to not have to worry about getting the use / setting up / restringing more than one. This way I can just concentrate on improving my technique to make one bass sound less bilge :) .

  3. Here we go...

Edit: apologies that's not very constructive.

As others have said, a good teacher would be a great place to start; they can help you explore music the way you want to and help you not to pick up any bad habits along the way.

  4.
I think a lot of guitarists are pattern players and only know the root note, but it seems some don't even know that. :)
This is our lead guitarist. He would be able to tell you the root note of the chord he's playing (after a bit of a think), but that's the limit of his theoretical communication.

That said, he has successfully written great guitar parts by ear for all of the songs we have written over the past six years. Doesn't slow things down at all; I wouldn't change him.

  5. Fender American Vintage '57 Precision Reissue

I am considering selling the '57 P to partially fund the purchase of a Matamp GT200. I would keep it if I could afford both :)

I bought the bass new in August 2009; I have used it for a few rehearsal sessions and played approximately five gigs with it. It is absolutely immaculate and has always been stored in a hardcase when not being played (I wouldn't dare to risk the nitro finish on any sort of stand).

The tweed case and all accessories (bridge and pickup covers, strap and lead) have never been used, let alone left the house.

Ideally the buyer would collect the bass from Bristol / Glos area, but i'd be more than willing to meet up within a reasonable distance.
The lowest price I can find on the internet is £1700, I'm looking for [s]£1200[/s] [s]£1100[/s] £1000.

    Anyone interested?

  6. Nearly GAS free here - well bass-wise anyway. My Rick and '57 P both give me the exact tones I like, they're both a pleasure to play and look great too.

I haven't played live with any effects for a couple of years now, which is very liberating and really focuses me on playing more consistently and inventively.

If my band were to play live more often (like in previous years) I'd really like to get rid of my Ampeg B2RE head (not that there's anything wrong with it, it's great!) and go for something valvey like a Matamp GT200 or an Ampeg SVT CL, but it wouldn't get enough use; it's just not worth it at the moment.

The only thing I have bought in the last 10 months is a PJB Bass Cub, which has been wonderful for low-key acoustic(ish) gigs and recording.

Might start looking at some acoustic guitars soon though. Anyone played a Taylor Mini GS?

  7.
I have to say that I really agree with this.

I've owned a mid '80's Thumb and Streamer and, although I quite liked both, the Thumb really summed up the whole Warwick vibe for me.

This may sound somewhat 'blasphemous' but if you like the idea/look/feel of a Streamer then i'd definitely check out the 'original' version - a Spector :)

I've owned a few of these & much preferred them to my old Streamer.

However - if you fancy a Thumb, then this '87 is rather nice:

Not that I'm showing any bias here of course - but you could PM me if you like the look of it. . .
Damn you!

I've been clean and GAS-free for 10 months and you've gone and done this! Molan, are you selling your Thumb?

Think i'm with the OP, this bug is catching!
