  1. Well I'm quite in love with this 1 12 from Eden with the Time Traveler head. Its quite amazing that you can make it modualr as well having up to 4 1 12 under one head.

sounds so brilliant for such a simple EQ

  2. Yep the 1400£ one. I was going to review the head today jsut for kicks.
This one was jsut taken out the box and put with the cab. I turned it on, setup the Eq and plugged. Played one note and BAM!, tubes blew and and the whole thing when down.
We got another out, With the same result. The shop had 3 in stock, obvioudly they wouldn't let me blow up the other one. I found this quite funny for something thats more than a grand.
Obviously when i do the review, I will mark it down heavily in the build quailty and duriablity section. But its a Laney, What should I expect huh?

Any similar expriences with Laney at all?

Well, Squire basses can be very good. In my opinion a bad Squire beats a Hohner any day and they can even beat some Fenders! If you are looking to get another bass I would spend the money on an upgrade of the Squire pickups (bartolini/Fralin/etc) and electrics (east/etc) and possibly the bridge (badass/schaller/etc) and have a professional setup and a good set of strings (DR/etc). Do each upgrade seperately so you can judge the effect, you might feel the pickups are all you need, but with that lot on board you'll have a bass for others to envy.[/quote]

Haha I really need to change that :), I sold that to a mate so I'll let him know when he is looking for a new bass

The Hohner isn't that crikcet bat shape, its a got a precision type body. Not sure what year it is. I'm also looking at a Cort Curbow, but that makes me look like a giant because of the body. I'm 6 5, I am a bit of a giant, but the body is way to small. Amazing preamp one that thing tho.

  4. Hmm, Well thanks guys, i went and tried the contempary today and it didn't stack up to my expectations. Definately not enough tone for the likes of me.
As it looks now i'm looking at getting a Headless Jack bass Custom from Hohner. I haven't platyed a Hohner before, any problems i should know about? :)

  5. I've been thinking about getting one of these babies of the Evilbay, But I fear it might just be good for playing beatles songs. I have hear some soundbites but not enough to get full knowledge on the tone side of things. Has anyone played one, and is it good for playing others songs than a Hard Days Night and Back in the USSR :)
