Hi chris thanks. what are the possible problems, before i search for a techie because they are rare in my area.

i'm going to put one or two shims/washers under the truss rod nut to buy more turns. any idea about the size of the washer that suits best for Fender's vintage truss rods (nut at neck heel)?

and how about the duration? will my bass get harmed during time with the heavy strings on it? neck warp along its longitude axis, wood squash under the truss rod nut, and other problems.
ever happened to anyone using MIM basses strung with 50-150 and above flatwounds?

yes i forgot to mention that i took mine off too and went back to those old 45-100s!
i did achieve the desired relief and action with the 50-105s on but i was not sure what would happen to my neck in the future during time...!

Hello. has anyone put these on a roger waters P? does the neck resist the tension?
previously i had a set of 45-100 installed on it. strung it with these 50-105s last night but the action and relief scared me a bit. set it up to taste but i'm worried about future neck wrap around the rod, or truss rod nut breakage, squeezed wood, etc. please share your experience with me. i will appreciate that.

yep. in fact i'm pretty strange with circuitries. i swapped some pickups and pots the other day, but when it comes to ICs and such i'm a noob. but yes i'll get a replacement for that IC and give it a try. Thanks a lot again.

with all the valves removed it's still there. unchanged. so the tubes are ok? so what else should i try? please shed a light

none of the preamp knobs affect this hiss. only the volume knob. is it still a suspicious tube?

Hey all.
got myself a hand built tube preamp (2xRCA12ax7s).
not much high quality components though.
at the beginning everything were working fine and it was quiet till suddenly it decided to hiss! there's a very obvious white noise which increases with the volume control including crackles when turning the knob.
unfortunately the builder has migrated to another country and i can't get in touch with him.
do you have any idea what is the common cause of such problem? dirty board or pot? broken caps or tubes? what can i do to fix it myself? i need your advice and i will appreciate your help.

sir mine is a vintage type single rod with the adjuster at the neck heel. no access at any other place of the neck to the truss rod. hope the problem is not at the hidden end. i think i should check the washer first. i appreciate your input

i dont know if it's relative to weather change. i live in a 4-season place. no matter if it gets warm or cold here; the truss rod just gets loose!

Hello Everyone.
i have to adjust the truss rod on my MIM waters signature P about 4-5 times a year. but it suddenly gets loose again after a couple of months. is it normal? it's a bit tight when adjusting but adjusts very well to my desired position. i'm just worried about having to re-adjust it periodically. shed a light please. thanks a lot.

waters signature P , facelifted to look like a 57. i payed a MIA price for this MIM: bass+parts + 100% import tax + shipping + dealer's slice! but cant be happier! totally worth it. sounds and plays great!

dear Grangur i live in iran. importing tax at our borders for musical instruments and parts is 100 to 120% here!! plus shipping! plus mr.dealer's percent (if i order from him) which is around 20-30%! :|
we buy MIMs for the price of a CS here bahaha!
