1. Koch Studiotone 40XL head in mint (not a mark) condition with Hotcovers padded cover and Koch 2 button footswitch. The cover has some tears on the top but still protects perfectly. This is the 40W EL84 powered head with Clean, OD & OD+ channels. It has the Emulated output for recording or hooking up to front of house, it can also be used for silent recording via the power soak switch. Moved more to the bass so selling guitar equipment to invest more in bass gear.

  2. Its super easy, I did one recently myself. Dab water of the fret, run a hot soldering iron across if for 15 secs then prize the fret up and repeat. I then filled up the gaps with light quick drying wood filler then sanded to a smooth finish once dry and its done!

  3. Ive seen people struggling to find somewhere to get replacement speakers in the UK, however I have found somewhere.

They stocked the 12" replacement B&C yellow speaker on the shelf and delivered it next day for a surprisingly low price, they are also a Markbass UK Service Agent, so undertake repairs which is useful for in warranty repairs.

My amp was the CMD121H which was made in Italy in 2006 and purchased 2nd hand by me January this year but I got a replacement speaker with no issues or having to supply a serial number.

  4. rmcki - The strings are 2 weeks old and I'm not a sweater, so they are still good. It doesn't have a passive mode.

HowieBass - Medium action and no note chokes anywhere. Thats why I didn't want to bring the pickup too much.

Could it be a faulty pickup that was never replaced?

  5. So I recently purchased my first Semi expensive bass and I love it,thought fkin heavy. It's is a 99 FNA 5 string with the AEC pickup and preamp, however the B, E, A are loud and clear but the D and G are substantially quieter to the point where in a band situation the G is not existent.

Would a compressor pedal sort this out?

Would replacing the pickup to the Seymour Duncan be worth a go? And would it wire into the existing preamp?

I use a Markbass CMD121H and set everything with decent mids, no scooping going on.

Any advise would be great, I don't want to fall out of love with my new bass!!

NY121 is 4" or so shallower than the 121H so it won't really work underneath it. However it's exactly the same width so the top front plastic cab protectors will interlock perfectly.

From the front people won't see the difference in depth So it'll just look like a 2x12 rig. You might want to cut the piezo in the NY as the horn in the 121H is higher quality and sounds nicer.

Only real downside I can think of is that your amp control is in the 'middle' of the rig rather than on top.

We haven't had this set up in the shop but we have tested a 121P combo on top of a 121H cab (which is more or less the same thing) and it works really well as a complete rig.

If you're anywhere near us we should be able to get an NY121 for you to try with your combo at decent volume to see how it sounds :)

Thanks, are you a shop? If so shich one and whereabouts?

  7. I want a cab to easy the load on the single 12" speaker, I'm thinking either a traveller 210 or the NY112 cab.

I'm using either a 5 string warwick or 4 string precisions

Is there anybody that has been in this same situation or does anybody have any advice/opinions

    Mike
