Friend of mine has one of those Chinese Fodera copies, well it's of course not a Fodera but a good bass for £250 though.

Cool, did he do anything to it or swap parts or pups etc? -

Seems to me the import duty, VAT and handling fees will be £80 minimum. I reckon you need to be mentally (and financially) prepared for something around £100.

It's certainly ugly enough to pass for a Fodera :-)
At that price I wonder if they'll actually use a burled wood top or if it's just a pattern printed on?
I'm interested to see what it's like when you actually get it.

Haha
I will take some decent pics and maybe do a video of tones so you get an idea when it arrives -

Thats the tricky bit, some of the sellers show in the ads are authentic guitars to draw you in, your better off asking for pictures of what your gonna get. And pay by credit card, the website has payment protection but just to be double safe.
AliExpress is the site but they seller I'm using is

So what kind of options did you have when you ordered this bar the logo?
I believe you can specify whatever you want, they are made to order
I was offered a maple neck with block inlays but chose the rosewood with dots -

Yea I'm not trying to pass it off as anything, il probably chuck more money in parts at it than the cost of it but I like tinkering.
I just picked my first initial and scrolled through my fonts to New Berolina MT and liked it, bums. It's definately an M but totally different font to the one they've used.
I may strip it down and give it a satin finish, not sure yet, I expect the pickups and wiring to be crap but it's ok -
So Ive seen a few posts about them and I was so curious I thought id get one plus I would never be able to afford a genuine one unless a lottery win landed in my lap
I didn't see the point in it being a straight ripoff by having a badly made Fodera logo so I have made my own which Ive not been charged extra for.
Its probably gonna play like a pig but I like a good project so I don't mind too much, heres a pic of what it should hopefully look like.
Im guessing it won't be 15-20 days until I physically see it but the guy send he would send me some pics when its made so I will update with progress for those interested

Just received mine. Though I am awful with Compressors so I don't know how good my opinion will be! Seems solid enough. Manual looks a bit useless. Wouldn't mind changing the chicken knobs to make it look a little different to other Joyo/Chinese pedals)
Yea I suck with compressors too lol
I have a gig Saturday so I will give you my verdict then, but seems solid -

Hey man, sorry for the delay.
At £49, it's by far the best comp out there for the money. Tbh, for £100 it possibly would be! I've had more since January and it's incredible. Exactly what I was looking for; a great optical comp which can add subtle compression, add a bit of girth, and really make the higher strings cut through strongly in the mix, with no perceptible losses and quiet operation. The controls do interact with each other a lot, particularly the gain control, which will affect the response of the other controls considerably. You will need to spend a little time tweaking to start with, but once you hit your sweet spot, you'll love it!

Hey no probs thanks for the reply. Just out of interest whats your typical setup and how are you setting it -
iv had one a year or so now probably the best compressor i've had for bass, i run it through the master FX loop on my genz shuttlemax and it improves my sound and helps fatten out those higher notes!
Sweet just what I wanted to hear
At £49 it's worth a punt at least -
Hey @TRBboy how did you get on with it, I've just ordered one myself I got it a £49 which looks like a steal

If your not after a loud gigging amp then Id definitely say try a VR out they do sound good. The only other issue I found was the drive channel was substantially quieter than the clean channel, its not uncommon but I found it further apart here than with any other amp.
-
Ive had both amps in question and for me the 30VR wasn't loud enough for my rock/blues band, if your happy mic'ing then id say got for it because it does sound great.
I personally like the drive channel on the Deluxe, the VR will give you more modern gain tones.
Hope this helps -
Second thoughts quite like them

Beauty! Not sure about those curtains though

Seymour Duncan STC-3M3 3 Pot Wiring for Musicman
in Repairs and Technical
Posted
I have just purchased one of these preamps and have fit it to the diagram specs even through the diagram is for a STC 3M3 4 not a STC 3M3 3.
Has anyone fits one of these and can send me pics of it installed on a Musicman, mine seems to have a very low output?
Any help is greatly appreciated
