1. I bought in a hurry the MS mini and had to sell it to buy the MS Kit. ( ok except loosing some money I am very positive about that)
Now I will wait until they will come with the right version of the Oddisey...no more minis for me...and I really hope the " make it even better" does not mean digital models or sample based sounds.
I hope they will keep the good old concept and construction of Oddisey with added midi and usb.
Just like they did with the MS Kit.

Yes, the longer the string then, for a particular pitch, the higher the tension. However, that is a separate issue to the gauge of the string.

Tension is dependent on three things only:

(1) Pitch of note
(2) Length of string
(3) Mass per unit length of string

Mass per unit length is dependent on the construction of the string such that if two strings are differently constructed then they can be the same gauge but have different tensions because they have different masses per unit length.

... and tension is not compliance.

Ok I understand your technical background but I was speacking about the same brand and type of string set.
For ex: the tension of the D'Addario EXL 165 nickel strings set is higher on a 35" than on a 34".
Now, if you want to lower this tension on the 35" ( we are speacking of the same brand and EXL strings) you should use a lighter set like EXL 170 nickel.
If you want however a lower tension, then you can replace the EXL 170 nickels with the EPS 170 Pro Steel set.
Why? ...because the EPS 170 Pro Steel has lower tension thst the EXL 170 nickels.
For the rest of technical detail I believe you know better but that was my point.

3. What I understood is that you need a synth workstation in order to have several seq with allocated sounds in memory, polyphonic and some sampled sounds...and why not easy to handle in a live situation.
As "xjsgx" stated you can get very good prices in the preowned market for brands like: Roland, Korg or Yamaha ( to name a few).
Up to you to find the right model that suits your needs.

I always ask if the simple part is played because it is the best thing for the music or is it because that is all the player knows
how to do?
When someone like Will Lee plays a root note line you know it's because it's what's required, but when Guigsy from Oasis did it I'm guessing it was because of his limitations. To me, that's a huge difference.
+1 totally agree.
On a funny side, imagine that Will Lee's band is required (well paid) to play an Oasis song.

Hey dont get me wrong I went to the Yanek Gwizdala workshop!, I dont mind a bit of twiddling but it has to be right for the gig, If I had gone to see Yanek and he showed us a few Coldplay numbers I would have wanted my money back on the other hand AC/DC have done rather well without any two handed tapping, in fact instead of watching one guy tapping Cliff Williams got millions of peoples feet tapping! :D I dont think they will be too worried about xgsjx's lack of purchases due to a lack of fourths and 9ths missing.

No problem, it's just for the fun of the debate, really... I understand " horses for courses" but you know, each with his own tastes and if you went the YG workshop I am sure you will appreciate the link . ":0)

Yet the bands mentioned so far are far more popular than the typical music created on basses like the one in your avatar, even as a bassist I'd rather listen listen to AC/DC's greatest hits than a solo bassist with a loop station so im not surprised really :)

Ha ha, yes you are right, But some loop stations goove not so bad...

We dont get many gigs with riders. Last one was a support for a well known 70s band, our rider was a slab of beer but the promoter 'forgot' it. :D

Ha,ha...then it's maybe better to stay at home with the amp...lol

8. Hi Snarf,
Yes it is a wonderful one...Rockhal
The music scene in Luxembourg is very active and diversified. I am very happy so far.

Touchig to your bass cleaning concerns...and on a more serious note, if you intend to clean properly your bass or especially a high end bass like Smith, Fodera etc the only products that I really trust are:
For the laquered finish: Smith Pro Formula Polish
For the oil finish and fingerboard: Smith Classic Wax Polish
The lemon oil is used on a large scale for the classical stringed instruments (for the fingerboard) hence it is ok for all basses and guitars. The only problem ( which is not so well known in the Rock'n'Roll area) is that you have to put very little and not two kilos...lol ( it's not beer)
I tryed everything on the market, please believe me, and since a very long time these two products rule.

Seriously, it's every bleedin' week and has gone on for months. Every time there's a small bass fill (think "crazy little thing") I see him look across and smile and nod, like I'm a three year old and just managed to tie my own shoelaces for the first time.

Patronising t**t.

Hmmm, perhaps this is symptomatic of a wider issue with my band mate.

But one of these days, he's going to get a bass chucked at him with the words "well you 'kin play it then" as I stomp off to sulk....

Just go in a band that deserves your bass skils, you'll be more happy.

Warwicks (Streamers anyway) are Spector style basses, not the other way around. They nicked the shape from Stuart Spector.

Just sayin'..... :)

I think they bought the rights and pat to do the Streamer.

I've no problem with your comments :) I wouldn't have thought to actually buy a V bass - it's not a bass design to everyone's taste and certainly not practical......try playing one sitting down ;)

For sure your project bass screams "play me loud on stage!"

12. The sound of a Strat is known as before and after Hendrix.
The sound of Jazz Bass is known as before and after Jaco.
In fact the specific signature sound of a bass is given by the artist who play it.
Can we recognize this sound unless we play a specific technique or song?
Nice question...

13. A really good new Rick with a great quality ckeck and sound was the 75th Anniversary.
I ordered and bought it in the States and it really shines.
For the rest.. It is a lottery with many many losers.
But when you find a winner...oh my God! ...the sound is nothing than superb.
I played fifty and I found five...keepers...forever ( blue boy included)
