1. I recently bought a Korean Epi SGEB3 from the bay cos i wanted a taste of the Gibson thing...the Gibson model being shortscale was what put me off...that and the fact that it's a 'reissue' of a bass that never existed. I stuck a Dimarzio Willpower on the Epi and it's now a quite respectible and fun to play bass.

Kennys Music has a Gibson SG reissue in the faded black finish for £700 quid brand new in case your interested.

  2.
Strange that Maplin only sell solder that doesn't work properly with the irons they sell.
....don't get me started on Maplins...bunch of twats sold me USB/digital interface dongle that almost set my f'ing flat on fire...when i let them know about it,they couldn't have cared less...doesn't surprise me in the slightest that they sell lead free solder without the irons that reach a high enough temp to melt lead free solder. You should invest in a bench iron with a variable output if you do a lot of soldering.

  3.
... Little Richard. In my opinion, he was the best.
Wrong, Buddy Holly was the best...closely followed by Charlie Feathers. Yes, i do like Rock n' Roll...like some jump and rockabilly/psychobilly too.

  4.
Ah really! They look great on here (Sony VAIO screen which is very nice so perhaps I am biased)

    Cheers

I use a Colorvision Spyder to calibrate my screen as i was having the same problems whenever i posted photos on flickr etc...what looks good on your own screen can, quite often, look terrible on anothers...good investment if you do a lot of photography.

  5. Been giving my Pete Wylie/Wah!/ Wah! Heat/Mighty Wah! Shambeko say Wah!...etc,etc...yada, yada...stuff a spin, on Word to the Wiseguy at the moment, and was wondering why Wylie seems to polarise opinion so strongly when it comes to his music? I know that he comes across as an opinionated arse at times but you gotta admire his nads for doing his own thing and staying true to his ideals...aint ya? after all this is the same bloke that once described Ian McCulloch as the ugliest man in rock music...not that we needed telling Pete...we knew that.

So what say ye? Is Wylie madder than a box of frogs or is he, as i suspect, a talented but misunderstood, cheeky scouse git who wrote some really beautiful arrangements with some seriously tasty bass lines?

I realise that most readers will, at this point, be wondering what the f*** i'm on about, sorry bout that...for those that actually remember Wah! your input is appreciated.

  6. Although i like the sound of this bass and love the look of it, the neck is just to narrow at the nut for me (it's a jazz width) and i've decided that another Precision bass is what need.

The bass itself is a Sandberg Custom Shop model, finished in an Aged Cream colour with some mild relicing. It has a P pup and a musicman type humbucker at the bridge...both by Delano...as is the EQ. Comes with a Sandberg gig bag.

Looking for either a USA Precision as a straight swap or a MIJ/CIJ with some cash my way. Might sell for £575 posted.

  7.
the headstock which kinda looks like Jeremy Beadle's wee hand somehow.
+1 :) me and a mate were in a hotel bar in Polworth in Edinburgh one sunday and Beadle was at the bar...my mate pretending that he hadn't seen him started making some rather uncomplimentary comments about how much of w***er Jeremy Beadle was...luckily Beadle never saw the funny side of this and pissed off in huff, leaving us to drink our pints without having to be in the same company as the untalented twat.

but ask her if there's something else she'd like instead? She might like the idea of a change.
...like a hairdryer or washing machine, cooker etc.

...well someone had to stand in for the BBC.
