Just fettled my HWY 1 for this gig next week type bump

They have also taken Haz's playing into account with the Studio / Live mixing.....the bass really cuts through now

Seeing them at the Roundhouse.....think i've pretty much got every album they've done. And yes Haz Wheaton is a breath of fresh air 👍

P.S. Haz's bass is a R*ckenfaker.....70's Ibanez i believe.

The MU should have 'Organised' the industry many many years ago. They didn't they stuck to orchestra / theatre / film & TV etc and as such allowed their membership dwindle and become disaffected.

Having worked in a heavy industrial setting from the age of 16 i have been called pretty much everything you can imagine. The only exceptions are race and religion which are sacrosanct. After nearly 30 years of daily banter the skin is like saddle hide.

I'd have been sacked on both counts.....oh and i'm not a fantastic bass player either. Proficient but not fantastic.

Do your research if at all possible before joining a band so that you know the exact requirements.

On May 26th Hawkwind play the Roundhouse for the first time in 45 years.....

To celebrate this our band Spirit of the Age are playing a Pre 'Hawkwind Gig' Gig at the MAP Studio Cafe, 46 Grafton Road
London, NW5 3DU.

ENTRY IS FREE!

We will start around 5.45pm (ish) and play up until around 7pm when the doors open at the Roundhouse.

Get the Hawk party started early and join us for some stripped down proto punk Hawkwind tunes

Average of 45 mins i would say. 30 mins is normally a minimum.

My Squier Frank Bello Jazz Bass has a Gotoh Hi-Mass bridge, Seymour Duncan Qtr Pounders, KiOgon Series/Parallel wiring loom and Grover machine heads. It has a very good neck on it which i have rubbed down and removed the coating to make it much smoother to play. The body is Agathis which is nice and light it also seems to be fairly resonant.

When it comes down to it i would argue this bass could hold its own against a £1000+ Fender US instrument

I really want one of these so if it doesn't go let me know. Dunno how i'd get it from Taunton to Londinium though.....
