2. Guys,

Monster sounding Rig for Sale....... I can honestly say that this SWR 750X gave a very good account of itself A/B'd against my DB750 (which it replaced)

OK the DB was a bit better in terms of Pure sonic ability but live....... in the mix ? not sure there's be much in it !

The built in distortion and Octave effects are excellent (Distortion is very ODB3)

The Head has a little bit of "Rack Rash" and one of the Control knobs is missing the centre cap,

Make no mistake...... this Rig is LOUD as HELL !!

Pre Fender SWR Boxes in VGC (Golliath mint & SOB a little bit of fuzz but otherwise spot on)

The 410 especially has had hardly any use !

SOB comes with SWR soft cover

You guys know what i'm like when i've decided to sell something....... I don't mess around !!

The whole rig goes for £700 collected from Sunderland

Reduced to £600

Hello Mark!
....Lot of bass for a good price!...have previously played one of these and they are very nice... unfortunately not in the market for another Status at the moment though!.....thought theyed have snapped this up on Stati (at this price!)
BUMP!
I've not put it up on the Statii site yet...... I think Chris did

I love that site but it's full on Yanks trying to plunder our bass stocks with their strong $

4. Guys,

I've got something else in mind so i'm looking to raise the cash through the sale of my Status & possibly this Superb Squier

Some of you may recall when I purchased this from Guitar Guitar I was raving about the quality, feel and playability for a £290 Bass

I had Bassdoc install a pair of Brand New EMG's and put a battery compartment into the rear....

I honestly feel this Bass stands up to any Sub £1000 Jazz i've owned..... I've used this in a rehearsal with a RHCP Tribute and it Kills !!!!

Feeler at the minute as my Status isn't yet sold and I'm hoping I can get a deal done befor the other bass i'm after sells !!

Looking for £200 (firm)

I sold this to Funky Hobbit..... who sold this to Warwickhunt...... who I bought it back off !!

Some pics in The Hobbit's thread here........

5. Hi Chaps.......

I'm selling this superb Status for one reason only....

My Fat fingers are struggling with the string spacing.... i'm that used to fender / musicman these days I can't seem to adjust and it's just a bit tight for me.

Since I bought it from Chris it's had some TLC

Full strip, clean & polish
Fret Polish & Board cleaned & polished
New Battery (Duracel Ultra M3)
New Set of DR Hi Beams 40 - 100 & Full set up

Plays like butter with the fastest lowest action you'll find.

Sound wise.... 100% Status but with more balls (owing the the JJ Configuration I guess)

Some Status Basses I've had have sounded too thin to carry much weight in a busy band mix, this fella would suit a good variety of gigging situations.

Kingbass II on the cheap ?

Comes with Hard Case.....

Price is what I paid for the Bass from Chris which was a Bargain £550

Reduced to £500 so long as my Target Bass remains available

I'll point you at Chris's Sale Thread for now - I'll get some photo's of it looking all shiny later when i've got a little more time.....

6.
I used to work in music instrument retail and sometimes, get drafted into help out in my old chap's shop here in Peterborough. The problem you mention is solved swiftly - I muscle in on the miscreant (young slapper!) and say, `wow thats cool, can I have a go?' The mop-headed herbert grunts, gives me the bass, I then destroy him via sheer musical power and skill! They then slope off, having been made to look silly in front of their posse!!! Hahah!

Nick (old slapper!)
Bully !!

Musician make horrible customers - Shops get a raw deal these days with everyone throwing Internet prices in their faces......

I don't mind paying a bit more for good service...... I've built up good relationships with a good number of shops both locally and nationally, they value my custom and I respect their need to make a living !

7. Simply the Best Jazz Bass i've owned...... Blows the nuts of a couple of Fender Custom shop 1970's i've owned (Tone Playability and build)

Better than any NYC Sadowsky i've had my hands on....

Much improved by having the neck finished in the silkiest gloss you'll ever caress !!

100% recommended to anyone after the best in Jazz Bass tone

(Chris is also a legend - kinda goes without saying)

8. I have to say Chris..... not my experience with Guitar Guitar, they do move stock between their 3 branches (common sense) and have always (IMO) carried a decent range of Bass gear for a non bass specialist retailer.

Steve the Manager is a knowledgable and friendly guy who knows the industry and the Bass scene really well for a Guitardist :) as for his Staff George (ex Manager of Sound control) is his Asst Mgr now and i've always found him really helpfull in both stores.
