1. Guys.... for the Alleva Owners out there,

now you've had your bass for a while has the usual "novelty factor" of your new prized posession begun to wear off ?

I'm looking for something wonderful for my 40th and just wondered if the fuss about Jimmy's basses was justified ?

I bet Doc's done this more times than anyone on planet earth !!

  4.
Well it'll be appearing in exactly that format (although probably not full tilt) through my two Golly's at the Star in Newcastle on Friday 11th or at the Turbinia in Newton Aycliffe on Sat 12th September  (not a very subtle pimp eh :) )
I'll bowl them..... you bat em mate !!

Its a beast alright, but I recon it'll last me a long long time.
Where do you go from a head like that ?

Total Monster...... i'd love to hear that one full tilt through a pair of Golly III's :)

  6.
No mate, but I've had a few problems with getting the finish I want which has resulted in two 'sand back to bear wood' episodes on the front. If all goes well, the lacquer will start going on tomorrow and I'll get some more photos up when there is something to show.

BTW, that amp is a bit of a monster!
I bet that one doesn't have to go to 11 :)

ha ha...... Doc amusing as ever !

  9. Chaps.......

When John collects my Bass & Rig tomorrow I will be without a Bass for the first time in a very long time.....

I've decided to take a year off Bass entirely and come back afresh, i'm simply a bit bored with where I am with the instrument and need a break to get some passion again. I need to re-invent myself as a Bass Player !

I've got my custom bass for my 40th (Sept 2010) in progress now and i'm looking forward to the build process and getting every detail as I want it.

Over the time Basschat (& other incarnations of this site) has been going I have bought and sold a fair amount of gear and met loads of smashing people who I consider friends..... Thanks to everyone on here..... Ped, Kiwi & the Mods especially for keeping this site on the go for us all.

    All The Best Guys
