  1. Hi Guys

I'm exhibiting at the London Bass Guitar Show. And I was looking for a helper for the show.

Like when I did the Mansons Show in Exeter, you wouldn't have to do too much. Just cover the stand when I need to nip away to eat/go-to-the-toilet/fetch-stuff etc. Let people try stuff out if they want to. I'll do all the selling bits.

When I'm back at the stand again you are free to wander the show as you wish.

I very kindly got several volunteers when I did the Mansons show, and was hoping somebody (ideally London based) would be able to help me out.

Get in touch via DM if you're interested.

    Kind Regards
    Stephen

  2. I'll be exhibiting there. Nervous. It'll be my first one as an attendee let alone as an exhibitor. Everybody at the Manson's Show was regaling me with horror stories of what it's like.

Would love to meet everybody so make a point of coming by and saying "Hi" :D

  3. Wanted to drop a quick thank you to Rich for coming and helping me cover my stand at the exhibition. Although we didn't sell anything on the day, I've sold a few to people that I know tried us at the show. And I know Bass Direct sold one to somebody who had tried them at the show too.

So. Thanks Rich. I owe you one. :D

  4. We will have a stand there if my artwork ever arrives on time!

So if anybody was curious to try one of our basses - or even just come say "Hello" that'd be great. We will have 2 right handed CHB-1 basses. One strung with flats and one with roundwound. And we'll have a lefty to try too.

  5. Hi All

I'm exhibiting my basses at Mansons Guitar Show in Exeter on the 3rd of October. I need a helper to cover me for occasional trips to the toilet, and having a bite of lunch.

Obviously a paying gig for 7 hours work. Ideally I'd like somebody that knows at least a little about bass. Although they'd be in no way expected to do any sales patter. At most they'd need to help people try the bass. Sit them by the stool, get them a bass off the wall and let them have a go.

My first thought was a music student or similar - but I have no idea how to go about finding somebody.

I'll be driving down from Bristol so could pick somebody up if they were on the way from Bristol -> Exeter.

    Anybody got any ideas?

    Ta!

Congratulations on your 3rd run Stephen.

If that doesn't say you're doing something right I don't know what will :)

The entire 3rd run is sold through as well. Every bass is going straight to a customer. I think the 4th will follow really close behind it.

We have a big retail launch coming soon. Just waiting on the mods to find out if I can post the details on one of the forums on here. :)

Nipped up the road last night to meet Stephen (not forgetting Scottie dog Fergie) and try a Chowny. Very impressed - a quality piece of kit that's a really nice player. Based on last night, I'd say anybody who's ordered should give themselves a pat on the back.

It was good to meet you Mike! And it was Hamish. ;-)

In my experience, Chinese quality is often pretty damn good nowadays. Obviously, there will be exceptions - as Muppet rightly points out that there are with MIA stuff. For me the beauty of the Chowny deal is that Mr C comes across as the sort of guy who knows how to spec a good bass, has a personal relationship with the Chinese manufacturer, and takes personal responsibility for ensuring that each bass he ships is up to snuff. If Scott Whitley manages to do the same with the SWB-1 he's commissioning from the same manufacturer, then us short-scale fans will have two great instruments to choose from - both offering exceptional value for money backed up by personal service. How good is that?!

    Thanks for the kind words.

That reminds me! The missing cases are finally coming this week I hope. I need to send everybody an update. :)

I'm also about to put in my 3rd run on production. Couldn't have done it without you guys.

  13. Just a quick note to say there's a couple of updates on the affiliates post :

What do owners use for carry cases for these?
    [/quote]

There is a fitted hard case for £70. Although we may need to put that up a few quid as we tweak our early production costs.

Unfortunately they're all running late for the people who have already purchased. But they should be here within the next week or so.
