1. Hello there Just a quick query in regards second hand retail value of the Ampeg B2 1*15 Combo. How much do you reckon a model in good condition is worth. I've seen one for £300 and just wondering if in a fully working state that it's worth that.
2. Hi there Does anyone know any shops that stock Ampeg amps in the London area? My internet searching and a few trips to Denmark street have thus far been fruitless. I'm interested in giving a few of their combos a try but I'm having trouble finding places that have them in store and not just in the warehouse (not available to try out). **EDIT** Specifically want to try out the BA115HPT Hope you can help...
3. Anyone seen anywhere that is stocking the BA300/115 amps around the London area? I quite fancy trying one out....
4. final bid was £455!!!! the seller may well be upset. Now I'm very smug....
5. After paying £230 for this through gumtree and giving it a good run for its money once home. It was a good purchase. And to make me a tad more smug bidding on ebay has gone past what i just paid for it... The guy is going to be pretty annoyed when he logs on to take down the auction.... 6. cheers for the advice. barring something nasty looking on the ferrules I should hopefully be taking this home this eve.
7. I'll give them a good once over Any thoughts on the neck plate? It's probably worth a punt at the price I'm thinking. They guy seemed fairly genuine and his backstory checked out when I googled him... ha
8. Ok then, well I had a play of it yesterday. It played nice, and the neck felt good/ the tone and feel was very suggestive that it was a mexican fender Jazz. I haven't bought it yet, may well do so tonight. I noticed one thing, the neck plate was plain, no logo. Do mexican fenders have a logo on the neck plate? Now the bad ass bridge. Is it usual for a bad ass bridge to be modified as such with holes through the body? I thought they were a direct replacement for the bridge already on it? If it was a standard jazz surely it would have been more work to drill holes.... The seller did say it had been installed in a shop on denmark street, not that he had any verification for it. edit: i didn't check the ferrules on the back, will do when i look at it this evening.
9. cheers for the advice, I'm trying it out this evening so I guess i'll see how it feels. Is there any tricks to see if the bridge has been installed well?
10. Just thought i'd thank you guys for the help. I managed to get a refund as I raised a dispute with the payment on paypal fortunately before he had withdrawn the money. meaning he was forced to refund me. The guy probably had the guitar but I wasn't willing to take the risk.
11. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...A:IT&ih=020 What do you guys think of this. The guy also has it for sale on gumtree, and I'm probably going to go try it out this evening. He is selling it on gumtree for £230 which seems very cheap, raising my suspicions somewhat. It seems like he's modified it with an s-switch and a bad ass bridge.... any tell tale signs to look out for?
12. I am endeavouring to get my money back. And I'm just kicking myself that I paid instantly for it instead of waiting a couple of minutes to read the emails from you guys. There were lots of checks I should have done before buying the bloody thing! My concern with this case is that the guy who is selling it is rather stupid. So this will only add to the frustration in dealing with it. As I've already paid for the item I've just got to check what my rights are as a buyer to then return the goods. I've asked for a refund now to save him all the hassle before he sends it but we'll just have to see what happens. Cheers for the help though!
13. Hi He says that the serial number is actually on the body presumably at the neck fastening point, visible when you take the neck off. Is this usual? Could this mean a replacement neck has been put on and that the body itself is authentic? I'm doing my best to get a refund but he is getting right arsey. Cheers Martin
14. Hi there so I'm the dope who just bought this bass off mister fenderred. think i got a tad hot headed Good news is that he contacted me back with a 'serial number' and said he would refund me if I didn't want it. Just wanted to see what you thought of the plausibility of this serial number explanation. He says that the serial at the bottom of the neck, once he has taken it off the body (not on the headstock) is MN621011 This does equate with a Mexican 96-97. Maybe it is just a mexican neck on a squier body... The Jazz ashtrays do look suspicious but they could easily have been put on later.. Are there any other checks I could request?? Did 96/97 Mexican Precisions have the serial on the back of the headstock? Hope you can help Cheers
