1. Hi all, following on from a previous post relating to Roland Cubes. 30W v 100W I wondered if you good people could give me your opinions on how the Roland Cube 100w stacks up against the Marshall MB 150.
2.
If you feel like you're losing them at any point, just get your willy out.
You could always just get your willy out right at the start, then no one will notice what the hell you are playing. ( As long as it's not your willy!!)
3. trent900, thanks for your prompt reply. You have just confirmed what I was thinking really, that the 100W amp would be the one to go for. As I said it will only be used for practise in my bedroom.I will take your advice and go and have a bash on one.
4. At the moment I am using a small Fender 15w Rumble amp. I want to upgrade to something more powerfull and like the Roland Cube. My question is would the 30w be enough? I only practice in my bedroom at present, but may one day, play in a band where I would presumably need more power. If I went down the 100w road, would that be too much? I know I needn't turn the volume up on the bigger amp but would that affect the sound adversely?
5.
A lot of the budget copies are very good - Take the Boston P-bass packages at £80-90 brand new. Great for a beginner and better quality than a Squier Affinity.
That's just what I don't want to read having just bought a Squier Affinity! But I have to say I like it and I love that Fender shape. I expect my next bass will be a "proper" Fender, unless, of course, after getting some more experience with the bass I find something else I prefer.

Hi, i'm brand new to bass and play a Squier Precision. I have no experience of other basses to compare, but I'm very pleased with it. Playing through a 15w Fender Rumble at the moment which will be the first thing I will change. How do you rate the 100w?

10. Thanks everyone for your input. Luke FRC I hear you and that is sound advice. I do actually like my Squier bass, but I'm playing through a 15w Fender amp, which isn't powerful enough really. So my first upgrade will be the amp, but I will hang on to the guitar for a while at least.
11. I'm new to the bass and didn't spend too much cash on gear, just in case it wasn't for me. I have to say now though that I love it and will no doubt want to upgrade to better equipment in the future. I would like your opinion. Do get what you pay for? Would a Fender P bass, for example, be worth the extra cash than my Squier P bass, will it sound, play better do you think? Any feedback will be welcome. Thanks.
12. Hello everyone, just a short introduction. My musical background is limited, way back in the 70's I played drums in a rock band, we did covers of the hits of the time then about ten years ago I took to playing the alto sax, but unfortunately the novelty wore off and it became a chore to pick the thing up and play, so I quit. About three months ago I decided that what really wanted to do was play the guitar and so found myself a local tutor, bought myself a Strat and started to play. Then about three weeks ago I decided that what I really, really wanted to do all the time was to play the bass, so I bought myself a Squier P bass and a Fender amp in one of those all in package deals you can get, couldn't really afford anything else after splashing out on the Strat. I've got a very understanding wife, but that would be pushing my luck. Fortunately my guitar tutor also teaches bass, so I've stayed with him and I'm enjoying my new bass. I know I'm going to wish I'd done this years ago! Glad I found this site and looking forward to picking your collective brains.
