    Kev's Feedback

just traded my B3K for Kev's Duality fuzz: everything worked just fine! Excellent communications. Would deal with him any time again!
  4. Well - my 5-string Marleaux Diva finally won the race to be my favourite fretless bass... therefore, my CS Jaco Sig. is leaving, as I find it hard to maintain a decent fretless tone on two different instruments... For sale is my Fender Custom Shop Jaco Pastorius Tribute Heavy Relic Fretless Jazz Bass. I bought it last year from the first owner... I am having a tough time describing the condition as "mint" - as the bass was built to look like it had been dragged behind an Truck over a bumpy road for 3 days... With this Tribute model, the Fender Custom Shop wanted to replicate the look (and sound) of Jaco's "Bass of Doom" (before it was destroyed and completely restored) as close to the original as possible. And as we know, Jaco never really paid much attention to keeping his bass in decent condition... Anyway, to my knowledge, no additional damage was added to this bass after it was delivered... Special attention to the heavy relic on the back of the neck:the legend says that Jaco used to eat fried chicken before gigs, and then went to the show without washing the grease off his fingers first - to make the neck even faster... well, that's what the neck looks like... (but I can assure you it doesn't smell like that...) and feels like: a neck which was played heavily over decades... Specs: - Alder body in 3-color sunburst, nitro lacquered, Heavy Relic finish - Maple neck with epoxy coated Rosewood fretboard, 21 "frets" (well, fret marks) - Fender Custom 60s Single Coil Jazz Bass Pickups The epoxy coating is very effective - you'd have to use a magnifying glass to find microscopic playing marks - even though i am currently playing Fender nickels... The bass plays incredibly easy and sounds, well, like a real Jaco... you'll come close to the "maestro's" tone, even though you'll never get there 100% without Jaco's physiognomy and technical abilities... but the bass' basic tonal character is unmistakingly a "Jaco"... Original Hardcase and Custom Shop certificat included, as well as Custom shop strap and cable.. £ 1,950 / 2700 € plus shipping if needed. Located near Munich, Germany.

    SOLD!

I apologize for the pictures... just realized that Basschat turned them all 90 degrees counterclockwise... and whatever I do, I cannot fix it - even if I upload photos which are turned 90 degrees clockwise... I'll be happy to send pictures via e-Mail and also take more on request. As I had questions: weight is 3.8 kilos

    SOLD!

I have finally decided to order a custom one, so I will part with my Fodera Yin Yang 4 Standard (and, by the way, also with my Emperor 5 Standard, see other posting). Excellent condidtion with only a few tiny marks in the back. Specs: - Alder Body with a Flame Maple top and painted black part of the Yin Yang symbol and black dot (not sure if that's the Yin or the Yang...) - 4-string bolt- on maple neck with Ebony finger board, 24 frets, Mother-of-Pearl dot inlays and white dot, matching headstock - EMG P and J pickups and Mike Pope 3-band preamp, active-passive switch - Black hardware, Gotoh tuners, Fodera non-locking bridge, Dunlop retainer straplocks - Long scale, 19 mm string spacing at the bridge Extremely fast neck - with great attack from the ebony fingerboard! Easy to recognize it was co-designed and endorsed by Victor Wooten. However, this bass is not only a "Slap monster" - I like it also a lot played finger style..., Like my Emperor, it sounds very homogenous in all registers - something I have only experienced in Foderas so far... The Fodera Standard line is manufactured at Fodera's workshop in Brooklyn, by the same luthiers who build the custom instruments. The fact that they are built in batches of 10-20 instruments with no customization allowed results in significant cost savings and therefore a lower consumer price, compared to the custom Foderas. Anyway, they are "real Foderas", with nobody else involved in the manufacturing process. I recently had a conversation with Joey Lauricella from Fodera and he said that if he had to buy a used Fodera bass, he would look for one of the Standard models, rather than a custom one. Custom Foderas are built exactly to the specs and individual requirements of the one original owner. According to Joey, he hears often that people who check out used custom Foderas are not very impressed - which is not a surprise, considering they were made for a specific player... think of a glove: which is more more likely to fit your hand - one that comes in a standard size, or one which was fitted to someone else's hand? Comes with the original Fodera Teardrop case and all tools and documents. The bass is located in Munich, Germany, but I will ship within Europe at owner's expense. However, you are more than welcome to come over and check it out personally. No trade offers, please!
  10. I have finally decided to order a custom one, so I will part with my Fodera Emperor 5 Standard. Manufactured in early 2014, it has been played well, but rarely gigged (and if, only in civilized environments). Like new! Specs: - Ash Body with a nice Flame Maple top - 5-string bolt- on maple neck with Pao Ferro finger board, 24 frets, Mother-of-Pearl dot inlays - Fodera Dual-Coil pickups and Mike Pope 3-band electronics, active-passive switch, coil tap switch - Gold hardware, Gotoh tuners, Fodera non-locking bridge, Dunlop retainer straplocks - Long scale, 19 mm string spacing at the bridge What else can I say? The neck is not extremely slim, but plays nice and comfortable... the mike Pope preamp makes it very versatile, however, the bass maintains the typically Fodera tonal character - no matter which setting. What I like most about it is the "tonal homogenity": this bass plays and sounds like "made from 1 piece", from the low B to the high G.
