I don't know how I got earlier response so wrong it IS available!
-
I'll always listen. Worst I can do is decline 🙂

Sorry, only just seen this - no it isn't
-
I know - they are great amps for upright, but the technology is of the age so a tad lardy and not over endowed with power.
-
This is my Bassman 135. I have had this about seven years and popped new tubes in when I got it, and it hasn't been used much since.
The condition is generally reasonable for an amp of this age.Channel 2 seems fine, but channel 1 doesn't seem to be quite as expected - tones down and some audio is still through and it doesn't have the weight I would expect. I'm not a tube tech, but with the simplicity of these amps, I'd expect it to not be too major a repair.
You can see a video at https://cattytown.co.uk/BassmanDemo.mp4 - just done with a camera, no special mic.
It's a heavy, fragile beast so I am not going to entertain posting, but I can arrange a reasonable meet, but you may prefer to come here to give it a try for yourself.

These are absolutely phenomenal basses - very under the radar in how good they are and the tactile feel of it is supreme as well as comfort playing
They are - It is just lovely, but it's not really "me". I really wish it was.

Selling this reluctantly as this gets very little use. Owned from new, bought from GBBL when it was in Drew's care.
A beautiful, nice playing lovely sounding bass, I have just come to the conclusion it's not really me. Includes Sandberg gig bag. I change the strap buttons for straplocks, and I'll include the strap that's with it.
Any questions, please ask. For now, I don't want to post such a lovely (and valuable) bass, but as log as you are not too far away I am sure we can arrange something.

Blast from the past!
Used to lust after these in the 90’s..Back in’t day.. this was about the only dedicated upright amp, trace were the AER of the day. Really expensive new, they are brilliant.. you’d spend more on a preamp.
Hey.. by today’s standards it’s a lump but they are really more than enough volume for most upright gigs and the notch filter etc really help you live.
bump for a classic
Pretty accurate summary 🙂

Looking at posts on facebook, it looks to be about Wednesday when they started including guitar.
-
Looks like the change is in the process of happening - some stuff is bass guitar, some is bass and guitar. Twitter is an ambiguous handle of @Bass_GuitarShow, but the logo is still a fender style bass headstock.
Twitter description: "The UK Bass Guitar Show is a 2 day event, dedicated to all things low-end. The show features the latest bass gear, along with a variety of respected artists."
I will probably still go, but not looking forwards to it as much 😞 -

I didn't get on with varifocals at all
The first time I tried them, they were awful, and I lasted less than a week. A few years of struggling later, and an important change in the fashion for glasses, step up of the level I bought and they are awesome. I would need to carry 2-3 pairs of glasses without them, be constantly swapping between them, and struggling in sunshine. My prescription is strong - about +5.5, then reading is plus 1.5. I now go for the REALLY good lenses (high refractive index so thin and light) and photochromic so a pair of glasses is north of £700. It's worth it as the first thing I do in the morning is reach for my glasses, and the last thing at night is take them off. I really am useless without them.
The big thing is getting used to looking through the right bit, which does mean moving your head more.
The bit about fashion? when I first tried them lenses were quite small. Now lenses are a lot bigger which gives more space for the zones.- 1

Is this a record for not selling something, over 7 years?😏
To be fair, I have not really been pushing it that much. I saw it the other day and realised I still had it!
It's also (even in the world of bass) a bit niche!

Er, Bump. Had almost forgotten this was here. Will listen to offers.

I love a Bassman!
To get in, power down and leave for a while. Then leave it a bit longer...
The back panel (if still there should be obvious on how to remove. The chassis (at least on the 135s) is held in b the longish bolts through the "runner plates" on the top.

Another member! I have two empty pedalboards. I started. I grew. I bought a Helix floor and sold most pedals for more than the Helix cost!

I'm wondering if there's call for a tube bass bash once we can get together - there are people with amps here I'd love to have a few minutes with, and I have a Bassman 135 that I suspect some may like to try.
I'm a little north of Manchester, and if anyone is interested i'd be happy for them to pop round and have a look at it (it's NOT for sale 🙂 ) but it may help someone pondering a longer distance transaction, once we are allowed to meet even in small numbers.
Paul.

Thanks for the offer, not ready to go quite that low - while I don't use it, I seem to keep coming back to these...
I may see if I can find a local amp tech to take a look at it.
