  1. Evening folks, very uncertain about this one... I bought this stunning lakland 5594 at the start of the year and told myself it was an upgrade to my 5514 which I would sell to justify it. However, I have had my 5514 for a good few years and can't bring myself to sell it. So, this beast is up for sale. It's a very early example and in fantastic condition, with only some very light marks/scratches that I'm struggling to photo. It's fitted with the bartolini electronics which all work perfectly. Hipshot USA hardware. It has a stunning flame maple neck with birdseye board that looks so good! I'd much prefer collection or meet up with this due to the value and so any buyer can check it out in person. Not after any trades, however would consider a trade (if its something I could sell easily enough) plus a minimum £1800 cash my way if it helps find a new owner! Any questions please feel free to ask, I can try and get better pictures if needed :)

  2. Evening folks, for sale here is my 1983/84 Squire SQ precision bass. This is a lovely lightweight bass that plays and sounds fantastic. It's clearly lived and has multiple scratches and chips (I've tried to photo them however can get better pictures if wanted) however it is a 40 year old instrument! I bought this and was sold it as mostly original however after abit of research it turns out it's not. The pickguard and controls are not original (which I was aware of) the pickup is. It also appears to have had the tuners and bridge replaced, possibly with JV parts. The bridge has threaded saddles and the tuners are reverse wind. It's a great precision and would make a great gigging bass. Any questions please feel free to ask.

**There is another one of these for sale on here currently and I have priced it lower, not to undercut the seller but due to the non original parts.

I’m not the world’s biggest fan of Lakland’s but this looks lovely and I’d be tempted!
    what’s the neck width/shape?

Hi, the nut width is 41mm and 12th fret width is 55mm. I'd say the shape is a D shape, it's not a very deep neck. It's a very easy and comfortable neck to play. Bridge spacing is 19mm so feels very familiar if you're a fender kinda person

  4. Hi all, in my quest to downsize the collection I have decided to sell my deluxe jazz bass. This is a lovely bass to play and does exactly what a good jazz bass should... Sound like a jazz bass! All the tech info can be found online, but it has an active 3 band eq plus active passive switch with passive tone control. Has awesome black pearl block inlays and is a very resonant sounding bass with probably the best 34" B string I've played. Negative points are one of the B string saddle screw heads is rounded (I will try to replace before it goes) and the output jack is slightly loose. The lead doesn't fall out or anything but doesn't engage as securely as it should - does not affect the sound etc but just being honest. The neck has one small mark on the back edge G string side that doesn't affect playability. The body as had a few chips and quite a few shallow scratches/indents that are very hard to photo, I have attached photos but any viewing is welcome. Original deluxe hardcase includes which has a crack on the underside and is scratched but does it's job. Will listen to sensible offers and not really after any trades but im only human so feel free to ask. Collection or meet up preferred but can probably post at buyers risk and cost. Anything else just ask, thanks!

  5. Hi everyone, decided to sell this awesome bass as I'm only using 5 strings these days! I'm a huge lakland fan and this one does not dissapoint. One of the comfiest necks in the business combined with amazing tonal versatility makes these basses so good! Plays and sounds great, everything works as it should. It has been played so there are some light marks etc from normal use. Fitted with dunlop dual strap buttons. Weight is approx 9.6 lbs. This version is fitted with the lakland pickups/preamp. Not interested in any trades or offers please as it's already priced to sell. I may have a spare hardcase and box if postage was needed however would be at buyers cost/risk. Otherwise collection or a meet up is preferable. Any questions just ask. Thanks

  6. Zbynek recently bought one of my laklands. He was very easy to deal with and had great communication. Paid very quickly and made an overseas sale incredibly simple. Would happily deal with again, thanks and enjoy the bass 😁

You might be underselling this Bassman - check Guitar Guitar pre-owned basses section on their site. GLWTS

Thankyou! Yeah I did see their one and this bass new is over £4k, however I find more "boutique" basses like this never seem to hold value like they should. To be honest it may be off to bassdirect soon if no takers!

  8. Hi all. Have decided to see if there's any interest in my lakland 55 AJ. Stunning looking, playing and sounding bass. It's been fitted with a brand new sadowsky preamp. These preamps are great, runs a volume blend tone with a push pull for the active 2 band. It has an incredibly punchy and clear tone, helped with the typical lakland B string! Weighs in at approx 9.9lbs. There is one main mark/ding in the top of the body which I've tried to show, along with some light surface scratches front and back that are very hard to photo. Trial is welcomed, collection preferred but would consider a meet up or postage at buyers risk/cost. Any other questions or more pictures just ask. Thanks.

I’ve just bought a used Coda 4 Pro.

I wanted a Spector and I was also looking for a jazz-style bass (so this means I can keep below the max number of basses allowed in the house!)

I want to change from two volume controls to a volume + balance.

    My options seem to be:

    Get a 4-pot preamp replacement;

Get a 4-pot passive loom (eg from KiOgon).

My question is whether going passive will necessitate new pickups - are EMH HZs powerful enough without a preamp?

(And is going passive a huge No No for a Spector?!)

I've just fitted a sadowsky preamp to a lakland jazz bass of mine and I can highly recommend it. It's 4 pots, vol balance tone and a stack bass treble. Has a push pull passive switch on the tone pot. I got it from thomann for about £160 and it sounds awesome. I usually run it passive but the active controls are there should I ever need them

Do you know what changes were made to the control cavity? That plate doesn't look factory standard for a thumb, or was it like that when you got it?

As far as I know its factory. I'll get a picture of the inside of the cavity. There is a Warwick stamp on the lower of that cover that you can see in the photo (although it's partly faded/rubbed off). I've seen others of this age and they looked to have the same cover. It's held on with captive nuts and screws rather than wood screws and it all looks original to me

I had the 87 version with the integrated Schaller bridge, easily the best Warwick Thumb made, sold it when I thought I'd given up playing but actually hadn't...

Just out of idle curiosity, what trades might you be interested in?

Trade wise not really after anything in particular as it'll probably end up being sold on. But would consider a trade as part payment as its obviously quite a lot of money to stump up :)
