  1. Hey guys, my band Time of the Mouth are launching their first album on May 2nd...Moochers jailhouse - Stourbridge. The tickets are £3!! Here's our promo video: http://youtu.be/AHEN8yoaBxc If you guys live local to the area, it'd be great for the support! I'm really looking forward to releasing it! And playing the album tracks back to back on a great stage in a great venue
  2. Hey guys there's a possibility I'll be coming, just gotta find a way up there as I'm from Birmingham. But if I do come: Basschatfield - Yamaha RBX270J, pedalboard, Ashdown EVO II combo.
  3. Hey guys, Can you guys let me know about any Jam sessions around West Midlands/Worcestershire? The only one I know and go to is the 'Worcester Marrs Bar'. I'm looking for places where a bunch of musicians get on stage, pick a key and start Jamming, instead of a place where they play the same songs every week. Cheers guys.
  4. Hey guys, i'm working with a drum and bass artist at Uni and just looking for some pointers for making a good bassline for it. it's quite melodic in the verses then heavy/fast in the chorus/break. Pointers would be handy
  5. Hey guys, I've just started a UNI course in Music Performance and me and a few class mates are planning on a project to record/produce some music for games and films. But we need to find 'customers' basically if anyone is or knows any amateur movie/game makers looking for music, then let me know. Or if anyone knows of websites which have amateur/indie move makers that'd be awesome. We'll talk and see what you want, and give it you for free

  7. Thanks alot guys I have till november to find a new bass anyway, so i've got plenty of time to find a nice german make Thanks alot guys Really appreciate it
  8. Yeah i've looked into getting a German made Warwick but at the moment i'm on little budget and really need a new bass as soon as, i've only got 1 and going on tour in November so i need a back-up. I really would like a German model. I've just looked at the $$ it looks a lot better. I think i may go for that. But i'll look a little longer for second hand German models.
  9. So i'm thinking of buying the Active 4-string, links here - http://www.gak.co.uk/en/rockbass-corvette-basic-active-4-honey-violin-oil/48688 I'm in a rock/alternative based band, I tap quite alot and enjoy using effects, so would this bass be ideal for me? I've played on a friends and absoutley love it. But would like some words from others who own one
  10. Aha words from the experts, cheers guys. There's so much here to check out. I've already been on Scott Devine Bass Lessons, he's a brilliant player and the story about the gloves is quite an interesting read. I've started listening to jazz, alot of Jaco, Richard Bona and just jam videos on youtube. I shall be starting these songs now!! Ahh i love the sound of jazz I'll be starting a new uni course on music performance and theres like a whole module on jazz players and improvisation so that will. . . be. . . amazing! So jazz basslines are mainly built on walking basslines?
  11. I really want to start playing Jazz, but don't know where to start. What are a few beginner tracks that i can learn?
  12. Without bass, looking rather odd. [attachment=133416:320051_10150417302566320_902243248_n.jpg] And here at a gig, after some kind of stage invasion. I have no idea what happened aha, some guy threw me on to his shoulders and all hell broke loose. [attachment=133417:485195_585516568127109_2050649638_n.jpg]
  13. Okay the band has picked up a few gigs at holiday parks down south of England and we were a bit nervous of what new covers too learn? We already know 2 hours worth of covers and working on new ones, but aren't too sure what would go down well at these holiday parks. If anyone has done these kind of gigs before, could you pass down some advice
  14. To be honest i don't even know why i rolled a dice, it was just on my desk so i used it haha. Well cause its a family computer theres like thousands of albums on it, alot of disney and pop party cds from my sister then like old school disco and irish folk from my mother. So theres ahuge variety.
  15. So i was playing bass today and i basically came up with this fun little thing to do to train my ears. So basically, Get your music player and put every song you own on shuffle. 1.Select one random song. 2.Then roll a dice. 3.Skip tracks x number on dice. e.g. roll a 3, skip 3 tracks. 4.No matter what that song is even if it has no bass guitar, try and play along to it. But only listen to the song once through, so don't pause or replay it. 5.Then back to stage 1. I thought it was fun and a useful exercises. Lets here what you guys think.
