6. Hey all, Sorry to bother you (but thanks for reading this) I have been playing bass now for about 6 months and have been playing exclusively with finger rather than picks. Problem is I have hit a barrier with finger speed when plucking. I now have moved on to using a pick for songs I find too fast for me. I can use 1 finger (and pretty quick with it I am) but when I move to use 2 I find that I mis-time with the second finger OR I do a 1 beat with my first finger and then 2 beats with the next then back to the first (if that makes sense) and yet I am still not consistent nor as fast as with my single finger. Theoretically I SHOULD be twice as fast..... So, basically is there a technique for training your fingers to work at speed and in rhythm or do I just practice, practice, practice? Any help apreciated. Thanks, Edd

8. Hey matey - I am in blackpool and its my birthday on monday. I am buying a pretty expensive ukulele but was also on the lookout for an OLP... You about for me to look at it at some point? Lemme know a number to call you on via PM. Cheers Edd
9. Hi folks, I was out looking for something a little nicer than my Ibanez BTB07Ltd (weird painted BTB200), possibly a 5 string. Anyway the local shop had a jap Fender J (which although very very nice, I just dont get on with the size/shape combo) and a 4 string Indie 'Riki' which I think by the name you can tell the shape/style of lol Indie themselves dont show it on the website due to 'copyright' issues *cough* Has anyone any opinions on them? I played it in store for about an hour and was impressed with the sounds it could make and the action (which was low) and it also felt nice to hold. The shop will do it for me @£279 with a trade in of an old bog standard 6 string guitar (not bass) that I dont ever use and cannot play so no loss to me. I have attached a pic - any comments welcome. Cheers Edd

11. Hi, I found this forum kinda by accident whilst searching for reviews on gig bags (I think) Anyway, I am real new to bass guitar. I decided I should get off my computer a bit more and learn something interesting. Most of my mates either play guitar or drums well or semi pro (i.e. bands) one of which is a younger brother of John Sykes Wiki for John Sykes None of them play Bass tho. I went out last month and bought an Aria STG-003 guitar and little watson practice amp. I tried and tried but I just didnt like it... guitar that is. Always in the back of my mind was "Flea is cool... what about bass?" All my mates were saying 'buy a guitar and learn that THEN you can play bass!' but I wasnt to be stopped I went out last week and bought an Ibanez BTB07LTD and an Ashdown Perfect 10 amp. I am really enjoying it! Now I need to sell the guitar to buy more bass stuff lol Lessons (hopefully) will start at Crossroads Guitar Academy in Fleetwood sometime next month because the owner is off gigging in the USA next week for a while. I am on hold right now just pratting around with the bass not really knowing what I am doing. But its fun none the less. Thats my nice lengthy intro out the way ! Thanks for reading (any help apreciated) Edd Apic of my gear attached (apologies for the size!)
