3. Right guys, the cab has sold. I am now left with just the head. It really is a great head and due to finances I am now dropping the price to £450, a steal for the ability of this head and the history behind this particular model.
4. I haven't no, thanks! I shall look over there now!
5. Hi all! My Dad has recently got back into playing Bass live and has asked me if I could find some information out on his Elmaya Rickenbacker copy Bass. He bought it in October 1979. The receipt which he still has states "Elmaya Rick Bass" With the numbers "508 72". As I'm sure you can all appreciate we really do not know much about this Bass. We do know that Elmaya made lots of copies back in the 70s, including strats and tele's. Any information any one can provide will be greatly appreciated! 6. Hello everyone, today I am selling my wonderful Warwick Pro Tube IX bass head! To give you some history on the head, I have owned it for about 1 year. Before this it belonged to a certain Cass Lewis of Skunk Anansie. I bought it from him, who had them from new. It has toured the world with Cass, he used this head and cab along with 4 cabs. You can see the gear in action live, in early Skunk stuff on YouTube. This is the most reliable amp I have ever come across. The head has two channels, x1 for Tube driven pre-amp and x1 for solid state driven pre-amp. The solid state has a 10-Band graphic EQ whilst the tube side has bass mid and treble cut/boosts. Both channels feature lots more features. As for the back of this beast... well! There are knobs and sockets galore . The amp can be run in Stereo (450Watts each side) or Mono (900Watts) and/or can be bi-amped with a frequency range knob to select the cut point. Click on the link below to view some more features of the head, this link is to GAKs website where they are still selling the amp, new for £1099. http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/pro-tube-ix/12845 The amp comes with a Rack unit also, not the best, but is more for ease of carrying and to support it in transit. I am now selling the head (due to a poor financial situation) for just £450! Please get in touch. Thanks everyone, Steve
7. Well i am in love with this thread! This is my `Ray dating to 2004. Just a standard 3EQ. Its the only bass i`ve played since 2004 and it does everything. I`m currently in a heavy rock band and its tuned down to C . G . C . F and sounds beautiful! Occassionaly i have drop a further step and still she handles it perfectly! Does anyone know where is best to get pickguards? Im thinking of a chrome one or clear. Cheers, Steve
8. a lazy sunday morning bump... this seriously is a great head, im shocked no ones interested. I may have to resort to putting it up on eBay lol
9. yeah it is, especially when considering its got a full wood case with metal structure inside... its a tank
10. ah i see ok, well thats fair enough! i will drop the price to £300... if ANYONE is interested??!?
11. wow thats good to know as well! i have put it over in the for sale section as well, started it off at £350 so if anyone is/knows anyone who might be interested... im open to offers Steve
12. Hey everyone, i have recently come by this amp head, it is a wonderful sounding piece of equipment but as i already have my rig its surplus unfortunately! Now i am not very good with technical stuff, but i do know that its a valve-hybrid, meaning it uses two valves on the preamp and uses a solid state output... brilliant!!! warm valve sound every time! It is 280Watts RMS into 4Ohms. Has seperate jack sockets for passive/active basses, x2 jacks for speakers, effects loop + tuner out. The best thing i have found with this amp is the Gain control, you can have a real nice tone and then really drive those tubes and get a dirty raw sound as well. Ok, now down to business im based in Brighton firstly and am looking for £350 for the head, its quite rare and sounds amazing so i think £350 is a good price. I have uploaded a couple of pics, if you want any more info/pics please just ask And one last thing, it weighs a LOT! so if you wanted it to be shipped it would cost a fair amount, if you are happy to pay it im happy to send it Thanks! 21. Hey everyone, i may be able to get a hold of one of these cabs and was just wondering if any one has had any good/bad experiences? All i really know is that it has a 15" speaker, x2 10" and a horn. Its 600Watts into 4Ohms. And that the frequency thingy is 37Hz - 20kHz... what other things should i be looking at as far as the cab goes? Any help will be much appreciated Steve
22.
I am not a big fan of compact boxes.... ...but Rumour6 has a 2x12 EBS neo thingie that is great!, so waht do I know?!?! The weeAShdown boxes don't have the space fill authority I prefer. The orig Ashdown ABM 500 cab (300w qxq5) was fantastic with the V8 and the V6. Best 1x15 since the big Trace boxes. From my stable, the Trace 1510 (1x15 + 1x10) is no bigger than a 4x10 and might do it for you as a one-box solution. That's only £300.... Or a Trace 4x10 + horn.... £275. Or if you want the end-all, how about a Trace 15+18 full flight box (face off, wheels and handles)? OMIGOD!!! Plenti-full-y ranged and snippish at £250. Lotsa thots.
hmm i think i would be more partial to a trace cab... is the 1510 just got x1 10" speaker, unusual! and is it 4ohm? if so it sounds rather good to me. though i cant find any info/pics of it anywhere. i would like the 4x10 but as they`re 8Ohm i know id end up buying a 15" to go under... and i really shouldnt! lol any chance i could get some pics?
23. im looking at possibly getting ashdown cabs to go with the trace, in particular the ABM 1x15 compact + 2x10T compact... any opinions on that? pros and cons?
24.
May be selling the carpeted 4x12. Depends on what a couple of local guys are up to with my V6 and 2x15 cab. The 4x12 is rated at 800w, has a horn and a high frequency dial. There is a metal grill under the front grill cloth. It is superclean and flightcased, so I would expect to get £550 inc delivery. doesn't hurt so much if you factor in the "cheap as free" deal you got on the head.... But if you want a great cab just to get on with, Andy67 is offing his Ashdown 8x10 - and your amp will make that puppy sing!
decissions decissions lol! i was looking for something a little cheaper than that unfortunately, which saddens me lots! as for the 8x10 that would be a bit too big and heavy for me... im starting to sound rather picky arent i? lol oops
