I had a word of advice with a foh sound guy working the stage we were playing at a local town festival a few years back…

oh i quite like it like that ….replies sound guy who hadnt even walked out front and was still working at the desk at the side of the stage 😬
Most festies & a lot of venues seem to be like that these days, I think it’s because they are set up for edm. It makes for a terrible band mix as the kick is always way louder than the bass guitar. In the audience you cannot tell what note the bass is playing. Aaaaah!

After a while it can feel like Groundhog Day. I found it more exciting to do worse gigs but in different venues.

Just get another db112, that’s what I did. Easier on the back than lugging a 2x12

Is the prototype any closer?
The concept sounds perfect

What % of gigs should band members be available for?

Our drummer last year did exactly 50% of our gigs, we had to use deps for the other dates. He’s always been busy with other bands and social commitments but I thought this was too low. I suggested band members should make 80% of gigs. He threw his toys out and left. Am I being harsh? I know jazzers are fluid with line ups but folk and rock it’s more tribal. Some of our music is quite syncopated and difficult to blag.
