1. Overpriced sheet metal is hard to come buy these days
2. MXR M234 Analog chorus, lots of tuning options for both the high and low with a superb warm chorus. Plus you can adjust the level so you do not have a high volume jump on activation. I like it and just bought one off the forum. Happy hunting!

7. I was just wondering why is there no app for basschat? Either/or for iOS, toffee popcorn(or whatever the knew android OS is) etc. I have a feeling that this topic may have been raised before. If financing it maybe expensive I am sure us members could donate even a paltry sum each to get it up and running. Any ideas?
8. Thanks guys for all the replies. Definitely I prefer the analog sound. This topic has opened up my ears to all the tonal possibilities that abound. To add to the mix I just heard a demo of the Moog 104 Delay and the EHX Memory Man 1100( waiting to hear the Ibanez). WOW the Moog is something and having the controls laid out like that really does encourage experimentation, the price tag is another matter. Slowly but surely I am piecing together my ideal pedal board. Thanks again!
9. Thanks for the replies. Budget is not really an issue now as I have learnt that with music equipment price really does make a difference in terms of quality. I would much prefer to save to purchase an effects that I will keep for ever than purchase one only to be and change it a few months down the line. I am a relative newbie so I am unsure the difference between the digital, analog or analog voiced delays. Can you kindly explain Gaz? I am going to have a look at the Boss pedal and the DOD you both mentioned.
10. I am considering purchasing some effects pedals in particular a Chorus and/or Delay pedal. Any recommendations? I play a jazz. Thanks in advance
11. This is a great idea. You can find my SoundCloud account in my signature at the bottom. I have one song up. Sharing to a group is by far a superior idea for the bass community.
12. I just purchased a Tone Hammer today. I play a passive Jazz standard and I needed to boost the lows when slapping without that scooped sound of an active bass and still retain the warmth. The Tone Hammer is perfect for what I was looking for, thought I have only tried the Sadowsky. Although I haven't played with all the setting it does one thing right, and that is all i need, then its perfect. I recommend you try it and agree with what NoirBass said in regards to letting the bass retain its inherent tone/character but just hiked up a little.
13. Thanks Everyone for the welcomes. I am off now to get a 'tone hammer' or 'sadowsky' per amp.
14. Hmmm..Sounds a bit like my bass playing too...
15. 'slap' is a cool language to learn
16. discreet thanks for the welcome! Your profile GIF reminds me that I need to get some wood glue to fix the nut in place
17. apparently some bassist are prone to just living life in 'swing' timing
18. Hello! I can introduce myself as a new bass player, bass being my first proper musical instrument. I decided to purchase a bass after mulling the idea of getting an electric guitar. So there I was standing in the shop with a Les Paul Studio but things just didn't feel right.I walked around and looked at those 'huge' guitars with four strings. I sat down and held a Fender Jazz bass..PERFECT...PURCHASED...and here I am 8 months later learning to play! SO far I have dinged my bass, swapped out the innards for a J-Retro(which I removed promptly) and replaced the nut by myself.Currently I am working on composing and recording some of my own music. I am looking forward to gaining more knowledge and conversing with fellow bass players on this forum.
19. Welcome fellow talentless musician! I can throughly relate to tampering around with a bass followed by the confusion at how things didn't go to plan...well at least its a steep but worthwhile curve learning to fix what you break.
