1.
Hello Bev and to BC.. 19-yo and quite a collection of gear already! The Hohner jack is a good bass.. I used to own a B2-V but couldn't get along with the five strings.. and the stiletto extreme is a cool name for a good looking Bass.. Anyway, how are you getting on the 2x12 cab? Cheers!
Hello yourself, I think out of all the basses I've tried the Jack is my favorite so far - unfortunately its given me a bit of an obsession with Headless Bass's now! I was pretty lucky my first two Bass's were bought for me (Squire P-Bass and the Schecter Stiletto) and all my other gear have been through saving wages & student loan. To be honest I'm still trying to get used to the 2x12 and with little experience in cabs I'm still figuring out if the sound is right for me - though its portability and small size is a big plus in my books!
2. Thanks everyone, it's nice to meet you all I do use fingers for some songs, it depends on the style/groove of it. At home I love to play bits of chords making little melodies to be added into them so for that I play with fingers.
anything but head-butt...
- damn - that was a technique I was going to try next!
3. So I guess I best make an introduction after creeping around in the forums (mainly the marketplace) and wishing I had enough funds to but 50% of the stuff for sale in there! Anyways, Hi! I'm Bev, a 19-year old female bass player, I'm currently doing a HND course in Music Performance in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. I picked up bass just under 4 years ago now but I've still got plenty to learn. I was introduced to music when I started learning Bb Cornet at 7 years old, at 14 I picked up the basics on guitar and went on to start learning drums. Bass wasn't actually something I intended to play, I only started learning after being unable to find a bassist in my high school band - with my best friend being a better drummer than me it seemed like a logical idea - Since then I guess I haven't turned back. I'm most definitely still a newbie when it comes to a fair few playing styles and amp tech, I'm slightly ashamed to admit that I also rely on using plectrums way too much (though that is due to a mixture of guitar experience and high school band as expected meant a punk/rock band). I like a big variety of music from Pop, R&B, Rock, Country, Metal, Folk and 'Djent' and always try to be open-minded to new genres or artists. At the moment my latest obsession/inspiration would be 'Scale The Summit' a Djent band with an (IMO) brilliant bassist (Mark Michell). Anyway I think I'll stop there before I start writing a book, I look forward to talking, and learning from all of you
4.
No love for this Bass..?
I have love for it - just no money!
5. Thanks everyone! I'm deffinatly taking all this into consideration. I've only recently moved from Combo to Head & Cab and have only really had frequent experience with an Ashdown MAG410T at college/university, every other were combos' - Ashdown Electric Blue 1x15" and my old Trace Elliot GP7SM 300 2x10". I'd prefer 2x12" but for portability a 2x10" seems like the best choice due to the lack of space in my car for transporting gear. Think your words of wisdom have put me back on the right path - Out of curiousity what brands/models would you reccomend? in either the 2x10" / 2x12" format?
6. They mainly do Guitar Cabs so anything about speaker reccomendations are related to guitars - I'll look into those though thanks
7. So my Guitarist friend is getting a custom built Zilla Super-Fatboy 2x12" cab built, from all his talk he's convinced me tha I want a Zilla Bass Cab built. Honestly not a clue what kind of speakers are best for the job so to speak, I'm looking into either a 2x10" or a 2x12" cab which would be paired with my MarkBass Little Mark III head. So... What would you guys reccomend / what wouldn't you reccomend? Or is it a bad idea all together? Throw your words of wisdom at me (though gently please - I don't want to bruise!)

16. Hi there trying to sell my Lindo FMB-010 Electro-Acoustic Bass W/ 20mm heavy padded gigbag This is a suprisingly good sounding electro-acoustic bass considering its relativly cheap price, gives off a very nice warm tone. Perfect for acoustic bands or bands of the folk, country genre as well as a good option for any buskers - or even just for an outside jam in the sun (whenever this myth called the 'sun' is available that is!) I bought it some time last year for a folk-pop project at my college (at £180- it was a spur of the moment purchase to be honest however it never got as much play-time as I had planned. The bass is in near-perfect condition as its only been used a handful of times, and at the moment its simply taking up space in the house. The bass comes with Thomanns' own Acoustic-Bass Jumbo Gigbag which has plenty of protection for any traveling with its 20mm padding with 2 additional pockets for any leads, sheet music or other accesories for storing in. The bag was bought seperate for £25 + P&P at the time but will be included in the purchase. Looking for [s]£110[/s] £100! ovno, collection from Wakefield, West Yorkshire however I will deliver/meet-up within the West Yorkshire area. Open to offers, trying to sell to fund a Cab for my friends birthday.
17. where abouts are you located? might be interested in the Gator one if its still available.
18.
I'm sure it's a perfectly good amp, I can't think why you don't value it.
It is indeed a lovely amp and I was lucky to have it as my first 'proper' amp, its been through alot with me however bills need to be paid and its too big and powerful to just use as a home practice amp - which is all the action its getting at the moment I'm afraid On another note, thanks to everyone for replying and helping me out here
19. Hi there, hoping someone would be able to help me out here. I have a Trace Elliot GP7 SM300 2x10" combo that no longer gets used enough to justify me keeping it as such I'm looking to sell it on, however I don't have a clue what the value of the amp actually is - can anyone help me out here?
