mint condition bass head, 800.00. delivered within 120 mile radius of london.
Interested in an EBS HD350 plus cash. Could do with some more headroom....
Steve -
Due to the imminent arrival of a 5 string metro this needs to be sold.
Its a great playing great sounding jazz bass and I will be sorry to see it go. I have gigged it heavily and so its not in mint condition and there are some dings on it. Quite a few basschatters have played this bass and all have loved it.
Anyway normally this would go for £1000 but due to the not perfect condition I am after £900 plus shipping.
Will get pics up later. None of the dings are massive or really noticeable and in my opinion add character.
Its oly white with tort pickguard.
Not really interested in trades as its a case of one in one out at the moment. I am only selling this as its being replaced with another sadowsky.
Thanks

Just to add a different perspective to the debate I own a fender custom shop at the moment and its one of the nicest playing and sounding basses that I have owned. To my hands and ears it's much nicer than the standard US or deluxe models.
I get the point about the number of models etc however :-)
All,
Any opinions on the realistic value of a bog standard late 90s US Fender Jazz in red with a white scratch guard. In good condition as far as I'm aware.
Thanks

Anywhere between £450 - 550 in my opinion.

Happy to recommend Steve. I have been having some lessons with him on a not regular enough basis and I am starting to see a benefit. Steve will tailor the lessons to suit what you want to learn and your ability.

I have had quite a few dealings with some of you on here and the old BW/BT sites. Let me know what you think!

I have just concluded a deal with Marcus and he is a great guy to deal with. Great communication and very friendly. I feel 100% certain that you won't get ripped off by this guy and would personally recommend him.
That is a beautiful looking bass...been looking at something like that for some time. If you've got the old Tony Bacon Bass Book, there's something very similiar (and original) within its pages.

I originally asked John to build me that exact bass but as we went on I decided to have no relicing. Mine is the same as that but in as new condition. If you can get to North Birmingham you are welcome to try it out.

This one http://www.bravewoodguitars.co.uk/BlondeJtype60.html is mine. I think I got the last custom order from John. It's a nice bass and I went for no reliccing as I prefer to do that myself by playing it.

I have got the walkabout scout combo and would recommend it. Its not cheap but has great tone and is pretty portable. A big bonus as people have said is the ability to remove the head and use with other cabs.

Had a few eMail conversations with Beaver when I was looking for a flea and he was great to deal with.

I have bought this for Mac and its really good!!

Jimmy Nail played bass in the file 'Still Crazy'. I actually own the bass he played in the film which was his own personal one.
I think £1k is pushing it. There's a 75 original bass on ebay with a changed guard at £1399 from Musicground, never the most modest sellers.
I'd price this bass (with the changes) more at the £700 to £800 mark. I bought an all orig 73 for £900 a few weeks ago, and they're still available. Whatever quality the refin, it's going to knock the price into touch.
An all orig 75 in CAR... I've never seen one...
Good luck with the sale... It looks a beauty.
Isn't this a 71/72 though? If so makes it slightly more valuable than a 75? My rule of thumb is to half the real value for a refin and then start knocking off little bits more for other non original features. I suppose ultimately it depends on what it sounds and plays like. If I was in the market for something like this I wouldn't think the price was too far off the mark personally but would be looking to negotiate a little. -
Thanks guys, I have been playing her most of the day and I am suprised how versatile she is. The previous flea bass I had was more of a one trick pony. Not sure if the electronics on this are original as its got a stacked bass and treble knob, volume and what I think is a middle. Supposedly Bartolini 9v preamp - I will get my screwdriver out later.
With a little bit of treble added you can get a really nice sizzle.
I know what you mean about the sparkly finishes, I had a silver sparkle and thought it was just a touch too much to gig with so this is ideal. The black sparkle is really nice however and theres one on eBay in the states but he won't ship to the UK.
Will try and get some sound clips sorted in the not too distant future!
Steve -
Just got this from the states and its fantastic. Its a 97 model with the coveted Lane Poor pick up and it sounds huge. I have had a flea bass before and regret selling it but prefer the understated colour of this one as opposed to the sparkle finish of the previous one. Its light as well!

September 15th is the date it 'should' be given the last 4 and the dates involved.
Thats the first step to agree a date.
