Price drop [#9] £160. I paid £250 for this a few months back, this is a total bargain! Going for £310 in Wunjo without the upgraded parts.

Purchased from Thunderbird on here last year. Sad to lose this bass but i'm in urgent need of the cash.

Fantastic short scale bass upgraded with GOTOH tuners and a Wilkinson bridge.

Little beast, sounds amazing with a lovely neck. Missing a string, slight fret buzz on low E but otherwise good to go. In terms of wear, there is a tiny dink on one side, no big deal. Pick up a bargain!

Thanks! I'll have a look if I can find a PT-2 soft case. Incidentally... I don't think the hard case is crap. It's quite solid and I've been using it for years even as riser for my cab(s) and it's still in one piece. It's a bit scuffed, of course, but that's the whole point of a hard case isn't it? To take the hits your gear would otherwise take...

Like I said, this was a copy&paste job. Totally agree with you though, I used to have a handmade (crap) pedalboard and even an infamous cardboard one.

3. Pinched from The Gear Page forum:

"IIRC, Guitar Center asked Pedaltrain to build a board and hardcase, but something that wasn't as expensive as their normal ATA hardcases. The result was the PT-1. The board is just fine, but the hardcase is a piece of crap. If you use it, it won't last 3 months.

The PT-2 is 2 inches longer than the PT-1, that's the only difference. If you want a PT-1 softcase, just buy a PT-2 softcase. If nothing else, you can space your pedals out a little, and I guarantee somewhere down the road you'll be thankful for those extra 2 inches (yes, I know, TWSS)"

4. SOLD - Please Remove

Hello all,

Since becoming slightly obsessed with shorty's this lovely bass hasnt gotten any use and so must go!

Its the model with the Gibson pickups and hardware (http://bit.ly/1R5d9TP)

Gigged a few times, mostly just sat in its accompanying Ritter soft case.

Bass is in great condition, just a small chip in paint on the headstock and on the neck (again, just in the paint - see pictures)

Based in Central London, open to offers and trades (guitars, basses and pedals)

[s]£260 ONO [/s]

Now £220 ONO

Cheers!

What DC Brick did you try? I know the standard boss PSU is a bit under powered. It looks like the M5 draws 500Ma which is probably more than either of your supplies can muster?

yeah i had this exact problem, its all to do with the Ma drawn because it draws 500Ma it needs a power supply that will give that if not it will cut out like you said previously. you will need to get a power supply that draws 500ma plus and it will be fine.
Damn, you guys are efficient. Yes, I was using 200ma supplies. Will get back when the 500ma gets here.

Thank you, I am an idiot.

EDIT: Worked. Cheers guys. Can't believe I didn't think of this.

6. Evening all.

I bought a used Line 6 M5 about a year ago and then ended up not using it for various reasons. At the time I checked if it worked and had no issues.

When I went to add it to my pedal board recently, I plugged it in and it worked fine ... for about 30 minutes. The lights blink on and off now when plugged in, and occasionally if left alone will turn on for a while but will eventually revert back to the problem.

I know all about the grounding issues (https://www.youtube....h?v=YMNvFBB2qXU) tried removing the screws etc but this just allows it to turn on for a short while and then, as above.

I've tried a Boss power supply and a DC Brick with the same results. Does anyone know of a solution or likely cause before I have to sell it on as faulty?

Cheers!

7. Pretty interesting (I don't know if this has been posted yet)

My home-built PC is over 6 years old now so is due for an upgrade. I built it primarily as a gaming PC so performance was number 1 but now I want to focus a little more on audio work so silent running is a tad more importance than gaming prowess.

My old kit is:
Intel Core 2 Duo with a 20% overclock.
8GB Corsair XMS2 RAM
Crucial M4 SSD (main drive with Windows 7 and all my plugins/audio software on)
Couple more drives for storage/apps/games.
Soundblaster Xtreme Gamer soundcard (used for Spotify/CD listening not recording)

So I'm looking the following

Asus Maximus Ranger VII motherboard (mainly aimed at gamers and has massive overclocking potential)
Intel i7 4790k Devil's Canyon CPU (this is the unlocked one for overclocking)
16GB Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR3 1866mhz RAM
Fractal Design Define R4 silent case
Arctic Cooler Freezer 7 Pro CPU cooler (these are great, got one on my old rig. Keeps it cool with that 20% overclock and runs very quietly).

I use a Focusrite Forte interface for recording and Reaper is my DAW of choice. 64 bit all the way too. The motherboard I'm looking at has a soundcard that would replace the Soundblaster if needed.

Later on, once I'm happy that Win 8.1 is stable enough for audio stuff I'd move to that and go RAID 0 with SSDs and split the OS and my music software/samples/VIs onto separate drives (not sure which lot I'd put on the RAID but that's all in the future).

I've not mentioned the graphics card as that's gonna be a later upgrade. I've got fan management on my current one so it powers down really low when doing audio work.

So, anything I should look out for/avoid for audio work? The CPU is quad-core which Reaper will love from what I've heard. 16GB of fast RAM should handle anything I throw at it too. Also, that case is the one that Scan put in some of their Pro Audio PCs.

The use of the PC will be split between home recording/mixing, gaming and photo work. With my current rig these all work fairly well in harmony. I can switch off anything that will interrupt recording (browsers with facebook in the background, skype, "your virus database has been updated" message etc).

As an aside, I'm not interested in going back to a Mac/OSX so it'll be a Windows build. :)
This is so strange - I'm buying an almost identical build right now but with the i5 Devils Canyon part and a slightly cheaper mobo, everything else is the same. I am also after a machine for the exact same reasons. Take a look at the Gigabyte Gaming or OC series motherboards - the new designs aren't as pretty as they used to be but there is some great OC potential and brilliant onboard sound to be had.

I also use a Focusrite interface, I'm going to be making the jump from 7 to 8.1. Brave or stupid? We will see. I've just been assuming that Reaper will be fine on 8.1 ...

9. Just came across this - 'There are also two effects - phaser and fuzz built into this guitar...'

I can't see this selling for £350.
