  1. Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone could help me out with a midi input latency problem I've been experiencing...

Basically, when I have my expression pedal connected directly to my HX Stomp, there's no lag/latency; everything happens instantly. But when I connect it through my DMC.micro into my Stomp, it's sluggish to respond.

This video might illustrate it better:

    Cheers for any help/advice

  2. Hi all,

Is anyone able to help me with my expression pedal problem? It goes from 0-100 super fast, and then 100-127 super slow. (Or 0-90 super fast, 90-100 super slow).

Here is a video trying to demonstrate it, I have no idea how to solve it. Many thanks for any advice!

  3. Hi all,

Which would be better for recording loud live band practices through the built-in mics?

I've already got a H4n (non-pro) and it's not very good. It's either distorted, or if I have the limiter turned on, pretty quiet...

I was thinking about maybe upgrading to the H4n Pro, or the Tascam DR-40X. Has anyone had any experience with these?

    Cheers

Having had both Cioks and OneSpot (both excellent btw), I've also been very happy with my HB Iso-5 which is definitely 'quality budget'.

I've just seen they've also got an Iso-12 out which puts out a full 3A but with twelve isolated outputs. Could be just the ticket for a slightly larger board build for more than the 7 pedals I've got on my current board anf which the Iso-5 handles really well.

Only issue I have is the Iso-12 is slightly 'higher' at 192 x 70 x 30 mm (vs the tiny  Iso-5 at 110 x 60 x 20 mm) and not sure I'd have enough clearance below my Metro 24 board.

@jjl5590I noticed you had managed to swap out the 'bolted' rubber feet on your Metro board for ones with better clearance which you've screwed in - was that a pretty easy 'hack'?

It was easy but a bit of a botch-job, so not sure how repeatable it is. I cut off the end of some wall plugs and used them to anchor the screw in the metal. Seems to be holding sturdy

Yes but all of your other pedals are lower draw and you've got one of the raised pedaltrains.

OP, as long as that's stable and it's all working it should be fine. CIOKS are among the best and I'm sure that if your DC7 starts to run too hot or with too higher load it will fail gracefully. Probably just politely turn itself off for a bit until it cools down.

Just don't overload one of those £15 ebay special power supplies, yeah? :D

Haha I started off with a Moskey ISO 10 power supply, it didn't get hot at all but was very noisy

  6. Hi all,

I've been playing for many years but never really bothered to do anything with my music. Never learned how to use a DAW etc. All I do is layer up 'ideas' onto my RC-3 loop pedal and then just save the .wav file to my PC, for listening back. The loop pedal is before my amp, so the recording does not pick up the sound colouring that the amp gives it, when it is played out of my cab.

I've just bought a Zoom H4n and I was wondering if it was possible to connected it up to my amp (TC RH750), to take the recording off there, whilst I am still able to hear the sound coming out the cab? I know I can just use the H4n's built-in mics to record, but if I'm also playing alongside it then it will pick up the acoustic noises from my playing, which I wouldn't want.

Does anyone have any experience with the H4n?

    Some suggestions:

    Filter envelope invert

Voice 1, 2 3 or 4 on/off (useful if you always program dry bass to a particular voice).

    MIDI clock sync on/off

    Midi clock subdivisions

    LFO 1/2 ratio

    mix 2 on/off.

    Thanks for the help

Probably best for you to think of what you’d like to be able to do and go from there. Does the UTIL only spit out a single CC?

Yea I think so. There's so many CC options on the C4, I just wondered what others were doing. I've got one for tap tempo, no idea what I should make the other one

  9. What midi setup controls do you guys have? I'm trying to think what to set on my DMC.micro...

All I've got so far is the micro scrolling through presets, holding left to bypass the C4, then I've got UTIL set up for tap tempo on the right side. But that leaves the left side, any suggestions what I should map it to?

    Yes.

Not sure what you mean then?

There’s a lot to learn from the answers and comments that were made my members here and on TB, it appears you have missed the essence of this information."

What is the answer that I believe? What essence of information have I missed?
