All tested - works perfectly. I've added a pic of the LED in all it's glory! 😀

Hello everyone!
I'm moving on my immaculate Mesa Subway D-800. It's a monumental powerhouse of a head, and I've never had it turned up past a third of the way. This thing is LOUD! Anyway, you knew that otherwise you wouldn't have gotten this far.
Comes with lead, gig bag, and original box.
I've bought and sold lots on Basschat so no worries there - have a look at my feedback if you need reassuring.
£600 plus UK fully insured courier at £40, or just come and pick it up from me in beautiful Derbyshire. We might have to pretend we're exercising though.
Here's a link with all the blurb....
Thanks!
Sam

Have a look at the build diary Owen - it's pretty special 😀.

Hi! I'm hoping someone will help me out. I have a custom made P-bass with a single Bart MM 'bucker in the sweet-spot. At the moment it's just wired in passive, but I'm not getting the tone I love in my 'Ray or Bongo.
The bass was routed future-proof to accommodate a John East preamp, and I'm thinking about the 2-band MMSR option to keep things as simple as possible.
Does anyone have any experience of this preamp? What can I expect from it?Thanks!

I am sorry.
I didn't intend to give the impression that I was knocking your nuts. I am well in favour of precise nuts. Everyone should have 'em, even the lasses.
I live in Chesterfield - you should see the lasses 😲

It must be nice to have your nuts numerically controlled and machined by computers.
Don't knock it till you've tried it! 😁

Thanks Sam and all those great bits of feedback from the group.
Yes my headstocks have extra mass where it counts and less mass where it does not. So for example on my extended range instruments there is light chambering behind the logo North of the last tuner. Mass is unimportant there in terms of string vibration physics and also helps avoid neck dive.
Regarding the heel pocket, there is no overspray into it and if there was it is cabinet scraped away. Sam's bass features my proprietary neck pocket which is as far as I know unique and I own the IP for it. I don't show this detail even though I own the IP as there are sadly too many unscrupulous copy cats out there. But suffice to say it confers exceptional sonic transfer throughout the instrument ensuring that the materials of construction contribute their disctinctive properties to the overall sonics of the instrument.
The frets are something I have done manually in the past. This time round I have developed more IP in terms of processes/tooling to semi-automate fret preparation, helping keep costs down. #custombuildnotcustompricing
Thanks again folks, have a great weekend and shoot me some questions if you like and if anyone wants a quote for their dream guitar or bass, I'm here to serve. No obligation for initial 30 min consultation.

It was his first flake job!! Impressive!

I know - that was the idea! Yes Bruce's attention to detail is monumental. I think he does that to add a little extra mass to the headstock and still get the tuners to fit through.

So it's kind of turned into a photo-diary!
As you can see, Bruce approaches design from an engineer's point of view, as well as a bass player and luthier. His method of fitting the frets is incredible - and his bull-nose fret ends are beautiful!

No-one interested? I thought this was a bargain! 😂

This bass is simply brilliant.
1987 vintage, made in Japan for the Japanese market. Never released in Europe. Active electronics, twin 'buckers. Fitted with Elixir 45-105's.
Fantastic action, lovely neck and great zingy tone. Weighs in at just over 8lbs. Comfy!
Obviously she has accumulated a few dings over the last 30 odd years, but the neck is immaculate. Negligible fret wear.
Skull position transfers are easily removed but why not be a pirate? Arrr!
Cheers me hearties!
Sam
*Oh yeah, if you can't make it to Chesterfield I'm happy to courier this bass to you for whatever it costs me

Still available! 😃

Thanks Japanaxe, but I’m way further down the line than that 😃

So, Bruce is an incredible engineer with a background in precision manufacturing (think aerospace, not Leo) and he utilises CAD/CAM all the way through the process. The Tele headstock was tweaked for optimal string alignment. It's also slightly thicker than a Fender - the Hipshot tuners will be sunk into the surface.

***SOLD*** Ernie Ball Musicman Bongo 5HH Stealth

Here is my beast of a Bongo. Yes, they divide opinion, but when I played it I couldn't resist! I now realise that I can't justify such a quality instrument for one song in the set so it has to go!
It's been played as you can see from the pics - there are little dings but obviously nothing that affects sound or playability. However, you're getting a lot of US made instrument for the money. Massively powerful and versatile 18v 4-band eq, immaculate rosewood neck with no fretwear at all, original MM case WITH KEY!!! 😀 and EBMM strap locks.
She was strung with Elixirs LAST WEEK which I'm annoyed about, but there you go.
Plus you won't be paranoid about dinging her as it's already been done for you - win win!!
I'm happy to consider trades for less expensive 5ers with cash my way, but ideally prefer to sell.
I have awesome feedback if you want to check me out so no need to worry.
I live in Chesterfield, Derbyshire and I'd be happy to meet halfway within reason (socially distanced of course).
Any questions - just ask!
