Its a shame that MarkBass discontinued the 152 along with quite a few of the "interesting" combinations (like the 106's and the club cabinets), which lots of other manufacturers have also had go at too now, but have settled on a smaller range of the single or two speaker options. They were just not selling enough to support it. If you look at the Bergantino and Vanderkley options they've pretty much gone the same way, but in their case not a 15" to be seen anywhere....

It is a shame, I would love to run both the 152 and the 106 but I just can't find one around. Also Mark heads only go to 4ohms :(

2. Glad you have joined the club MoJoKe. I have always used 15s in a bass rig, I always find I miss the bottom end with any other setup. I upgraded last year to a Markbass 152 with LMIII and love the sound! Also the looks I get when I carry it in alone are pretty funny.

Now I just need to finish the pedalboard off and I am in rig heaven.

Here is last weeks setup, with my new Alpher 5 string.

3. Just got a neck from Telebass, great to deal with, postage was quick and kept me up to date with everything. So well packed it took me 20mins to get into it!

Why can't every retailer work like this?

4. So after a long 3 months I received this picture!!

Only problem is I am not able to pick it up until the end of the month so its another 3 week wait until I can finally play her.

In the mean time I'm going to put up with Chris saying how nice it is and sending me pictures  and it shall sit on the wall of Alpher along with the Mk2 and new prototype. I'm sure Chris will be along shortly to inform us all of what we are drooling over.

Cheers for having a look, I will upload some more pictures and maybe a sound clip/video in the near future.

I saw this at one stage in the build - the body weighs nothing!

That was a massive thing for me. I currently gig with an Ibanez SR505 which is a real featherweight bass. Most of my gigs are 2-3hours so anything heavy really kills me.

6. I was looking forward to this but my mate has decided to plan his wedding for the this day! So I won't be around all day, do you think I could turn up later in the afternoon? If I was to come I'd bring my custom bass that I'm having built at the moment.

EBS HD350+ EBS cab -The Greek
Roscoe Century 3005/ Overwater J4 - The Greek
Markbass Mini CMD121P & NY121 cab - Lozz196
Some form of Precision - Lozz196 (very predictable there)
Ebay double neck kit finished - irvined
Alpher Custom Bass - StephenYork

8. Hi everybody,

I am finally getting round to making a thread about my first custom bass build, only 3 months late.

First things first, go check out Alpher Instruments over on facebook and see some of the great work they are doing.

I got to know these guys over talks and eventually me up with them in Nov/Dec 2012 to discuss and try out what they had produced already and as you can tell I liked it.

So down to it, the specs are as follows:

Swamp Ash Body/Wenge Veneer/Walnut top
Rosewood neck/Pau Ferro(Morado) Fretboard
Wizard Custom wound pickups
John East Pre-amp
Hipshot tuners and hardware

As we are 3 months in I will try to get these pictures in the right order!

My understanding is that "Early bird" was the name given to those tickets that were purchased before November 12 2012. They don't allow you to get into the show any earlier than anyone else. (Mine's one of those too.)

I feel a bit stupid now!

Anyway see you guys there

10. Ok I can't get the pictures to upload but here are the links. Here is the new "mini" rig and my normal rig for comparison. http://i1343.photobu...zps574e40a8.jpg
