1.
Hi, is this a US model?
These are Mex with USA pickups and electronics. Great quality though, really smooth finish on the neck. Not very keen on the preamp, the bridge pickup sounds really weak, I always wanted to put an East J-Deluxe in it, but bought a house last year and getting married next year so can't afford such luxuries anytime soon!

  2. [s]Tempted to trade my Jazz, as I hardly play it and when I do end up playing the wrong notes because I'm so used to playing my 24 fret Ibanez (amazing how much difference it makes!). So... possible trades for a 4 or 5 string around the same value.

Can't see any marks on it, always looked after it pretty well, all I've done is added a Bad Ass II because the original rattled a lot on the g string.[/s]

Withdrawn - extra bit of cash next months means I can put a J-Retro in it and hopefully I'll play it a bit more then!

  3. Ignorin the down-tuning, the SRT is the old Soundgear shape, but curved, the same as my SR1000 Prestige. If I were to ever get a backup for mine it would be an SRT. Lightest, most comfortable bass I've played, highly recommended!

  4. I played a Jazz in my punk band for a couple of years without any problems, as soon as I joined a country band and started moving around the neck more I got pains in my forearm/wrist. Don't have it with the Spector or Ibanez, just the Jazz. I assume it's from the profile of the neck, because the Spector and Ibanez are thinner.

  5. I sounds great with the tone controls centred, so I do all my EQing on the amp, but increasing the mid control makes it sound harsh, and decreasing it makes it sound really thin and useless as a bass tone. Bass and treble controls are fine when used subtly with the mid centred, but not as much useful variation as I'd expect from an active bass.

  6. I played the P, but bought the Jazz because I prefer the shape, but both are great basses, well made, US electronics, definitely a step up from the quality of the MIM Standards. The pre-amp isn't great, I'm eventally going to swap mine out for a J-Retro, and the bridge had a nasty rattle, but that's normal for the Fender bridge so I swapped it out for a Bad Ass II. I think they've gone up in price recently but second hand ones usually show up for around £350.

  7. Love my Prestige SR1000, very well made, great sound, lightweight, slim neck, and I paid less than the price of a new SR500 for it. It doesn't sound aggressive without extreme EQ (but I go back to my Jazz Deluxe if I want that!), but has a great range of tones. Very happy with it, and will never sell it, because it would cost a lot more to get something of the same quality.

  8. So what makes my Ibanez sh*te but not the Cort A4, built in the same factory, probably by the same people, probably with the same materials?

Anyway, I bought mine used for much less than the price of a new A4 so value for money isn't an issue :)

  9. Yep I love mine, this is the last amp I'll ever buy, amazingly lightweight and never needed to turn it past 12'oclock, even at bigger venues. Great tone too, rarely touch the EQ.
