1. Thank you Alex. it's not a homemade bass, but a bass i made with a luthier during a luthe-making course he setted up. his name is Xavier Petit, in France. all details of my adventure here: http://www.myspace.com/basste3/blog/307080427 and here is the next evolution (head shape, pickups, ramp,..)
2. Both is a good balance. I like to go see gigs to discover new sounds, and also go to tribute bands acts. Though, i don't wan't to pay a ticket for a tribute same price i would for originals. For example, an international led Zeppelin tribute band came here and claimed 58 euros !!! Not for me. I paid this for the real AC/DC on their next tour ! On the other side, for 10 euros, i went to a tribute bands evening, both from my area: a Queen tribute band (average level. Good for having a beer with friends) but a Pink Floyd tribute band which was AMAZING. A real magical trip. The best 10 euros i spent from a long time. Floyd Generations: https://www.youtube....h?v=2zwDwyIJ0G4 Way better than having a real Floyd evening on DVD.
3. Hi all I'm from south France, play bass since 15 years. Mostly jazz, jazz funk, jazz rock, latin jazz, electrojazz ... Anything with "jazz" into , and few rock too. I also play guitar, mostly acoustic one, with singing a little bit. My basses are a 4 string fretted Jazzbass copy I made during a luthe-making course; and another 4 strings fretted Ken Smith burner from 98'; plugged in a GK 700RbII through a GK NEO 115-III cab. Sometimes a dunlop Wha between basses and amp. I also play sometimes a Squier jazzbass, which is my wife one. Happy to discover this forum !
