  1. So another question. The inductor broke off in such a way that there's barely any wire poking out of the circuit board for me to solder it back onto. The back of the circuit board is covered with board. I've managed to solder the inductor back on, and I've taped it down with electrical tape, but I'm worried that the solder joint isn't very secure. Ideally, I'd take the board off the back to fix this, but I can't see any way of removing it without breaking it.

  2. When taking my cab out of the pub at the end of our gig tonight, I felt something fall off inside the cab. On inspection when I got home, I found a coil of wire rolling round inside the cab. Peering through one of the ports I can see where it needs soldering back onto. The question is how do I get inside the cab? I've tried unscrewing one of the speakers, the back plate and one of the handles, but they all remain stuck to the cab even with no screws in.

    Any ideas?

  3. I recently had a gig and got a small shock off the mic. This was the first time this has happened and I want to try and get to the bottom of why this happened.

I've bought a socket tester and check all the sockets on my extension lead - no problem there. I've also bought a multimeter, and there seems to be a small AC voltage (0.1 V) when i touch the red lead to the switches on my effects pedals and have the black lead connected to earth. Is this normal? It happens with any of my effects pedals and with two out of the three 9 volt adaptors I have.

I haven't been able to test the outlets at the venue as I haven't been back, so it could still be that. If anyone has any experience getting to the bottom of problems like this it would be appreciated.

  4. When I daisy chain my way huge pork loin together with my other pedals, i get an annoying hum. This happens regardless of whether the pedal is on or off, and stops if i remove the power from this pedal (my signal still gets through as the pedal is true bypass). It also does not happen if i use a seperate power supply just for this pedal.

Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening? I'm using a 1000ma 9v adapter, and daisy chaining 6 pedals including the pork loin.

    Cheers.
