Just seen a trace pa up for sale.

    X2 speakers with 4 speakers in each (I think x2 5" and x2 10"?), a sub, and the mixer.

Never seen one before, imagine they're quite rare now?

Didn't even think Trace did PA's...............

Some of those 'Recommended Configurations' seem rather excessive.... where do you need to be playing to need two 2x15 cabs and two 4x10 cabs? I suppose it's okay if you have a team of roadies and a stadium sized stage. It's quite interesting how it's all powered by a 400w head! I wonder how a modern class D with twice as many watts would compare?

As I mentioned in an earlier thread I owned and used regularly a AH350 and 2x 4x10 cabs just to play the Working Men's Clubs in Yorkshire and the North East. Totally excessive, not needed, cumbersome and very heavy and more often than not our mixer guy would only let me plug one cab in as it was really only for back line monitoring, plus we were using an 8K PA rig for everything!! Crazy I know, but boy did it sound and above all, look good lol.

  3. OMG...proper gear porn. Back in the day, I worked every hour I could in a Sheffield steelworks to own some of this gear featured.

To think I gigged in a Workingman's Club over many years with a AH350 and TWO, yes two 4 x 10 cabs, hauling them up flights of stairs all around Yorkshire and the North East. Massive overkill....but it looked good lol.

Many thanks for sharing and all the great (and not so great) memories its brought back!

In my first serious band one of the guys had this model HH cab. We all went to Music Ground near Doncaster to buy some new gear, and the owner opened the shop for us in the evening to try stuff out. We ended up with an HH PA system (200 watt mixer and a pair of Pro 2x12 cabs), an HH 2x12 guitar combo and an HH bass rig ( 100 watt head and this cab).

Seem to remember that although reasonably heavy the cab was quite easy to manoeuvre, and a great design with the clip off front. We used it for everything at some point - bass, keys and guitar, and it sounded fantastic. Think 215BL maybe stood for bass/lead? Anyway, great cab, and GLWTS.

That's interesting, I was a frequent visitor to Music Ground in Doncaster but much preferred Electro music as I always found the guys in MG to be a bit stand off'ish if you weren't buying anything. Never really got into HH stuff but the bands I saw using them it always sounded really good gear. The bass player/singer in the local band Radiation always played through HH stuff.

I had a very trusty Orange amp through a Wilsic Sound 4x12 cab back in the day and it sounded immense! Wilsic Sound and Electro were both on Copley Road in Doncaster and it was in Wilsic Sound around 1973 that I first heard a Moog...the guy demonstrated the sounds you could get and as a young kid just blew me away. Are you local to Doncaster? What band were you in?
