1. ORIGINAL CAB & iAmp350 on hold pending a sale. Neo & After market cover still available.

    Hello Everyone,

I have a pair of EA CXL112 cabs available. (I could be tempted to part with the iAmp 350 in the pics for £295, but if nobody wants it then that's fine as I do like it and it has a lot of good features, but I mostly use it as a backup as I mainly gig with an EBS HD350. The USA Fender Jazz Deluxe will be starring in it's own advert in the coming days, stay tuned. Just to make sure I'm not breaking any rules I'll put a value of £850 on the bass for now.)

    CABS...
I think one of their main design features is their transmission-line porting design as opposed to the normal port tubes in the front/back design. There's full explanation of the science behind it here... http://www.eaamps.co...il.asp?REC_ID=2

But the main thing I notice about them is that they're loud and clear.

The top one in the photo is standard with the high frequency driver firing through the dust cap and the bottom one has been upgraded to a lightweight neodymium driver (after a courier broke the original woofer :-( ) It's an Eminence Deltalite II 2512 12" 250W (cost me £140). It is still wired to the original cross over so it's not having to deal with the high frequencies, which I let the 150W high frequency driver in the top cab deliver as it's so powerful. I haven't missed the HF driver in the bottom cab at all. If I'm playing somewhere quieter then I just take the top cab. I've been tempted to wire the neo cab directly to the input socket for a full range sound through the 12" driver for an old school/no tweeter/peizo/horn cab option as I think it'd still work well as a pair, but I haven't got round to it. I'm too busy with home renovations. We're hoping to get some skirting boards one day as the eagle eyed amongst you will notice that there isn't any in the photos.

    So the Original cab is:
    350W (I think that's a 200W woofer and a 150W HF driver),
    8Ohms
    21kg

    The Neo cab:
    250W
    8 Ohms
    18kg

    HxWxD
    50x43x38cm

The other thing is that EA's customer support is outstanding. They emailed me back within one working-day with how to convert the cab into a 'no HF driver' setup with which wire to disconnect to by-pass the crossover.

They both have good rubber feet and the handles are recessed, which makes carrying them easy, especially the neo. They also have a flip-out handle on the bottom so you can tip the cab back, which is handy for better monitoring if you're standing close to it, or if you want to de-couple it from a boomy hollow stage. There is one official thick padded and VELVET LINED EA cover and a standard after market one.

I am trying to raise funds for house renovations so am ideally looking for cash, however if someone was very keen to trade then I could be tempted by a Jazz Bass (ideally five strings, but I'll consider fours too) and we can just not bother with carpet in the house. Who needs carpet when you can have another bass?!

Viewings are welcome as is collection. I do have cardboard and large bubble wrap for getting them sent to you.

The cabs are just outside Lincoln, Lincolnshire in a village called Welton.

    On to the photos...

    Hopefully that's everything :-)

  2. This is also on eBay (but more expensive to cover fees).

Here are some of the features of the bass I've enjoyed over some other basses I've played:

    - Active / Passive switch
    - Passive tone control
    - High mass bridge
    - Fretboard radius flattens out at dusty end
    - Pearloid Block markers
    - Ash body with natural finish
    - N3 Pickups
    - 3 Band EQ
    - Chamfered neck heel block
    - Straplock buttons

The bass also comes with a rather nice Fender G&C Hardcase with plenty of swing tags, user manual, guarantee registration card, etc. all shown in photo.

Hopefully the photos show what excellent condition the bass is in with the only marks being two very small marks (about 3mm) on the bottom edge of the body that rests against your thigh when you're seated. Except for that I can't find any other marks on the bass at all. The frets have seen little use too.

Selling to fund house moving fees :-/

Viewing is no problem, the bass is in Lincoln.

If you want photos of another part of the bass then just send me your email address.

Bargain £995 (no offers as I think this is a good price) + Postage (probably £19 or £39 fully insured to mainland UK, if you live in the highlands or islands then send me your postcode for a quote.)

    Payments by;
    - Paypal (no fees thanks)
    - Bank transfer
    - Cheque (If you don't mains waiting for it to clear.)
    - Cash

  3. Sorry about the links. Hopefully they'll be back up again soon. I have found these opinions on TalkBass...
    http://www.talkbass.com/threads/euphonic-audio-iamp-800-opinions-please.474089/

and these sound clips on Bass Tasters...
    http://www.basstasters.com/preamps/EA_iAMP_800.html

    Hopefully they're helpful.

  4. Bump.

I would also consider trades for a Jazz Bass, Fender or other makes too. I'm quite specific about what I like, but feel free to offer whatever you have, even if it's not a jazz bass, I may be tempted.

Thanks and original post updated with tortie plate photos as requested... I will probably regret letting this go, but I try not to keep too many.

    PRICE
To buy a new one of these would cost £1212 from GAK and that's only the common 3 tone sunburst, not the rare two tone, which this is.

    HISTORY
This bass was imported in to the UK and was setup by the famous luthier Martin Peterson (who builds 'Sei' basses) he offered to buy the bass there and then as he said it was such a good example of a Fender P Bass. It was also briefly played by the Nick Fyffe from Jamiroquai at a bass show.

    CONDITION
The overall condition is very good. Frets have little wear and the dinks are on the edges (shown in photos) these are only noticeable when inspecting the bass as from the player's and audience's perspective it looks like it's in mint condition. Oh and to be completely honest there is also a bump on the back of the neck near the neck plate, shown in the photographs. It's only when I have come to sell the bass that I've noticed and remembered it's not perfect. I can email you high quality versions of these photos if you send me your email address.

  9. Fender Precision + Free Gig Bag

This is a Fender Precision bass with:

American Vintage Pickup Installed.

Upgraded Pots

Bridge cover

Black scratchplate, from an American Fender Precision, & a Black Moto Pearl Scratchplate as seen in photos. It currently has the black one fitted as I think it looks awesome, but I will send the pearl one too.

D'Addario Nylon Tapewound Strings (Free half used Fender Nickel roundwounds available if wanted as well.)

Free Stagg Gig Bag included in sale - It's a Stagg with an improvised repair on the straps but it works well and it's clean with good zips, a large A4 sized pocket and a tuner size pocket at the top.
The bass is in good condition, with no buckle rash; just look at the photos for it's overall condition. There are two small indents that I couldn't get to show up in the photographs and which don't break the finish and you have to look very hard to find. You probably wouldn't notice.

Can be collected in person from Lincoln (cash on collection) or couriered by UPS Payment by bank transfer or PayPal (no fees please) or cheque (if you don't mind waiting for it to clear.

I will happily post this via UPS courier for whatever it costs, probably less than £20, but I can get it boxed, measured, weighed and get a quote to your postcode if you're interested.

I have also listed this on ebay for a 7 day auction, but it's obviously cheaper here.

Call on 07772006297 if you want to chat about the bass.

  10. Hi everyone.

Is there a difference between the Fender Deluxe Precision onboard preamp and the one for the jazz bass? I wasn't sure if the different pickups were compensated for on the circuit board in some way? I'm asking because I'm lookin for a Fender Deluxe preamp for my American deluxe jazz bass and have found one for a Precision bass but wasn't sure if it'd be suitable for my jazz bass.

    Any advice greatfuly received.

Here it is, as I mostly use it, with the iamp800 and the two 1x12" cabs stacked up looking very nice...

    It produces 800W at 8ohms and 1000W with a 2Ohms load (2x4ohm cabs or 4 x 8ohm cabs!)

The photos show that it's in great condition and always carefully looked after. I've used it with my Jazz bass, a keyboard and even as a PA for a couple of announcements this Saturday night and the clarity is always very impressive.

Here's the details from the guys at EA:

Unmatched performance in a 19-pound package.

The flagship of the EA line is the iAMP800. The Class D, digital, Iamp800 delivers an astounding 800 watts at 8 Ohms and 1000watts at 2 ohms, and a peak power rating of 2500 watts there is enough power to handle any gig, anywhere!

The iAMP features an isolated, fully shielded transformer, gold plated input and output jacks (except for the Speakon), both series and parallel effects loops, DI output, dual line voltage switch for both the US and Europe, onboard limiter, CD input and, of course, the unique EA tone shaping section. The result is a high performance, fully featured, small footprint rackmountable amp head that at under 20 pounds is comfortable powering speakers in a concert level environment. With an amazing efficiency rating of 85% the iAMP needs no cooling fan. Power when you demand it

Applications: Acoustic instruments, bass and keyboards.

I paid a lot for this and the new version of this (iamp pro?) is over £1000 at bass direct... so considering the excellent condition it's in £550 ono. Free next day UPS courier to mainland UK is no problem.

    iamp350

Great amp, with the same semi-parametric EQ system, and series FX loop.

    Pics...

Sadly the previous owner didn't mention this bump to the front of the amp when they sold it to me, but It hasn't bother me since it still works fine... I have tested it to make sure it's ok, but I don't use FX loops anyway so it's not been an issue. The front of the jack socket has been sapped off but the internal bits are still solid (as you can feel when you push a jack lead in) and it still works so I've left it alone.

It's got the same clear and clean tone as the 800. Great for getting the sound of your bass and for clear reproduction of FX etc. (which I use in series from my bass to the input socket).

    CABS: 350W each

I think they 126dB SPL? Anyway, they are massively loud for their size and extremely efficient, which is why I got them. At the time there was an annoyingly loud guitarist in my band but now we've got a new guy and we're going for the quiet stage volume method and loud PA approach.

    I have a CXL112 with cover here...

and another newer CXL112 with very nice thickly padded EA cover...

These cabs are almost identical, the only difference as I can tell is that the CX uses thicker wood than the CXL, which must make it tougher I guess and inevitably the CXL is lighter at 19.7kg instead of 24.7kg. They both sound the same. They are both rated at 350W each and 8ohm. and have adjustable tweeters. They also have both a jack and speakon socket on the back panel as shown in the photos.
