1. I have an Ashdown Classic Klystron C210-H 500 combo (2x10" speakers plus horn) as new for sale.

Have added heavy duty lockable casters, so amp really easy to move.

Stock images but amp is identical.

Link to a quick overview. http://www.musicplan...2x10-combo.html

Comes with original cover and 4-way footswitch..

    £[s]750.00[/s] £550.00

  2. A Status S2 Classic 4 string headless 2008 model, two small knocks on edge of body other than that like new. With Hiscox/Status case. The colour is a one off. Pix don't do her justice.
    alder body...metallic blue finish....chrome hardware...19mm string spacing.... board 302....

There's not much that hasn't been written about an S2 and this is no exception to the rule.

Not long bought bass and then got offered a residency, I will need a V string for the gig and I can't see me using the 4 string for at least 12 months, hence the reason for the sale.

Plays and sounds exactly like my V string (except no B string). A huge palette of sounds from the pickups.
Not at all a one trick pony, yes you can get to sound like Mark King, but there are so many more tones available here. I do slap, but only for fun so never need the Mark King tone.
I am mainly required to play swing, jazz, R&B, Pop etc A Status is the only bass I have ever owned which will do all this, and also be soooo easy to play.

    Technical Stuff.

    Graphite bolt on neck.

    Monorail bridge.

The 18v active circuit on the S2 is able to provide a huge range of tones.

Master volume and pickup blend are standard, as on all Status basses, with the addition of both bass and treble, cut/boost plus a variable frequency midrange.

This midrange control works in conjunction with the 3-position switch :

In the centre position the midrange is 'flat'
With the switch down the midrange is boosted
With the switch up the midrange is cut

The central tone pot alters the frequency, somewhat like a parametric, between 300Hz and 3KHz with a fixed boost and cut of approximately 6dB.

I am looking for [s]£1200.00[/s] Price Drop £1100.00

Note: Was originally looking to trade, but have now decided to go for a neck replacement. Waiting to hear from Rob if this can be done.
Nobody either read post or was simply not interested. So I have decided to sell the 4 string as I really need a V string. This is why I am asked about the Stingray plus why there is a couple of images of my S2 Classic. Maybe should have started a new thread?

    Got any pics?

And what neck shape is it? The modern squarer one or the older rounder one?
Not sure to be honest, but it's a 2008 model if that helps. Will sort out pics if you are still interested, but you may have seen it advertised on BC, apart from a small knock on the edge of the bass, round by your elbow when playing, bass is in like new condition, it is a one off custom colour. Which cost an extra £450.00, why anybody would pay that I am uncertain. I would of course top up the trade with readies.

  4. If you are trying to play from ear Hats off to you mate. If you are a reader, I have a really good transcription. If you only read TAB, I would be happy to rewrite the chart with not only string and fret positions but with the fingering added as I would play it. It would take a while but more than happy to do. Played this when it first came out in !970 something. Had to play it numerous times since, so its kinda second nature. It's all about moving your left hound to the right position so that what follows has the least of left hand movement. Not got bass handy at the moment, but I think for the riff there are only 6 left hand moves.

  5. MXR M288 Bass Octave Deluxe for sale. Bought pedal last December on a trip to New York. Got home had a quick play with it on my fret-less and then packed it away and forgot all about it. Pedal as new, Still in box.Great sounding pedal but have decided after all these years I am a plug and play bassist and if I can't get the sound out of my bass, me or amp then I can't be bothered.

Looking at £85.00 which will include first class recorded delivery to mainland UK.

  6. Bought my Status Graphite MM4 Neck. Prompt payment, really easy transaction. Recommended.

Many thanks lapolpora for a smooth sale. I hope you enjoy the Neck as much as me.
    A Very Merry Xmas

  7. Great bass on this track but Mark King plays a 5 string bass and although I own a Five string I just can't get enough attack when playing the B string notes.
So to make life easier to read I have raised the notes below Eb up an octave, adjusted bars so that were possible where Mark plays a run the notes stayed at the correct intervals, the odd bar here and there I have written a Ghost note were originally a pitched note had been written.

Transcription lifted from Stuart Claytons Level 42 Bass Transcriptions Volume 5. Unfortunately all Volumes are now out of print and as rare as rocking horse sh*t, which is a shame as all of Stuarts Transcription are a must for slappers everywhere.

  8. Bass transcription of Larry Carlton's Room 335 from 1978.

The first section is from a 1995 issue of Bassist which a fellow bass chatter was kind enough to post on here. However it only went up to bar 45, so have just got around to completing the song.

If your not familiar with Larry Carlton, he played with the Crusaders and back in the day he was the go to guitarist for Steely Dan. Quality.

    I hope you enjoy.

    Merry Xmas
