Cool bass!
No, I didn't know at all. Just had a wild guess after reading:

I also guess you have an SVT from the seventies.
    How did I do? ;)

  5. Thanks for the tip on the Superbooster!

As to the bass/amp being faulty, I know for sure that both are in working order.

I just can´t get the bass to sound as good in the amp as it does in the PA-through the amp the notes just don´t breathe.

    Hi Alex,

    Welcome to BC!
Yes, do learn here, and please also share your wisdom of 21 years.

We need a picture of your Silvertone, or else it will forever stand as being this '67 Silvertone:

Now you wouldn't want that, would you? ;)
    Enjoy the site!

How do you know I´ve got a Silvertone?! lol

It´s just like this one http://silvertoneguitar.net/silvertone-danelectro-bass-vintage-solid-body-60s/5180

It was my first bass - bought it for 20 pounds....

    Boas,

    Thank you all!

  7. Hi everyone

I need to amplify my Godin A4 fretless, but I don´t know what amp should I get.

I want something that can faithfully reproduce this bass characteristic sound. I´ve tried to use the rig I normally use for the electric - GK 700 Rb - but it just sucks... I´m sure it´s a input impedance thing..

I´ve come across an old GK 200 MV - haven´t had the opportunity to try it, but the owner says it´s good for any acoustic instrument.

Please let me know what you think,

    Cheers

  8. H there,

My name is Alex, I´m from Portugal, and I`ve been playing bass since 1993.

I dig vintage gear that´s why I have a couple (make that 5 70´s fenders), 2 80´s Stingrays and a 67 Silvertone (along with the usual suspect - Warwick)

Amp wise I have a 70´s Ampeg SVT (That thing is HEAVY!!) and a 8x10,4x10, and 1x15 (all Ampeg-I should be sponsored lol), but due to its weight (or lack of it when compared to the SVT) I use a GK700RBII.

Hope to have fun and learn some more about the art of bass and everything linked to it while I´m here!

    Cheers
