  1. I'm new to this as well..I think the chorus sounds like more than 1 bass, overdrive adds more sound I guess, not sure about compressor, and maybe envelope has the crazy effects.is that about right? Any idea about the Ashdown effects pedals? Any combo pedal recommended? Thanks

  2. I've always fancied playing double bass in a rockabilly band so I thought maybe a good way to do that would be to learn the Bass :-) I doubt if I'll ever get to it now as there is so much to learn with the Bass. Always wanted to play an instrument and it's been my biggest regret. I'm 54 next week. My 10 year old is a drummer and I saw a kid playing the Bass. I thought, that's it, I'm going to give it a try...2 weeks later a Bass arrived from Germany. :-) been at it now since January. All my spare time is spent reading, listening, learning and playing Bass :-)

  3. I'm thinking of my next Amp from my practice 15 Fender. I've been thinking of the MAG C115-300 Evo 11. Its for gigging.........in my bedroom at the moment  but I'm looking for a big step up from what I've got. I'll be using a Fender P AM Standard P Bass on it. Looking at the postings I've heard elsewhere that it lacks power than the advertised 300 rms but it seems to me that the options are the 550 Touring 115 at about £565 or the 300 at £288 and get a cab to go with it later, maybe a 2 x10 for some top end?? Does that sound like a plan for a newbie?

  4. Hi guys and thanks Jon for telling me about the site. I'm a newbie since January. I'm on a Squire P Bass at the moment but a Fender AM Standard 2012 MN CCOLA is on its way to me. Just got a 15 w Fender practice amp at the moment. read a few books, had a few lessons, and I'm working on the new Rockschool syllabus Grade 3. I live near Port Talbot. Regards, Paul :-)
