1. I have two of these and can assure everyone they are absolutely fabulous instruments. Great for travel, stay in tune for ever, easy to wear for hours, immune to weather, consistent sounding all over the range and have a fatter low end than you've ever heard. A mad giveaway price too! GLWTS. If it doesn't sell at this price I will eat my hat (pictured).

2. They really are like having the originals. The sound is sll there. And ALL the controls. When I played them and saw the attention to detail and build quality I was stunned tgat in 2015 we can buy something which is so exclusive but so UNDERpriced. Compare a JP-08 at £299 with one of your more expensive effects pedals....

3. Hi Discreet - yes exactly - what you've posted is exactly what I would expect on a 70s P bass. The bass in the advert, however, has shorter (and chromed) tuners like I'd expect on a later model.

From what I can see they are correct. 70s P Basses don't have the very long 'Kluson'-type tuners.
This is my 76P headstock, it's totally original.

4. When I looked at this, the headstock didn't look quite right. I realised it was the fact that it has the shorter stem chrome tuners rather than the longer nickel plated tuners I'd expect in this era.

Am I mistaken? Wouldn't be surprising as I'm no expert.

5. I've noticed a few people asking about where to get the Markbass 12v PSU - as supplied with Super Synth, Super Booster etc.

You can source the PSU in the UK from Real Electronics (the retail company recommended to me by the MarkBass UK distributors) for £18.60 inc UK next day delivery.
NOTE: it doesn't come with the slide-in UK plug piece. Order separately from them if you need it. Contact 0845 230 7737 and ask for Kirsty.

I'm not connected in any way with this company - just used them last week for this very reason. Well impressed with their competent, friendly and speedy service.

Hope this helps someone.

6. I love my Super Synth. They really are great, and the PC/Mac app for tweaking patches is VERY easy to use.

Just to help with your sale (ref power supply)...

Assuming that it's the original Markbass 12V power supply - the Euro plug piece slides out. You can then either use a standard "figure 8" power lead with a UK plug or you can replace with the UK plug piece (without replacing the entire unit).

You can source this part in the UK from Real Electronics (the retail company recommended by MarkBass UK distributor). This part is only a couple of pounds and Real Electronics are EXTREMELY quick to deliver. Please note that Real Electronics can also supply the Markbass PSU for £18.60 inc UK next day delivery - but this doesn't come with the actual plug piece. Contact them at 0845 230 7737 and ask for Kirsty.

Hope this helps.

GLWTS!

7. What do folk think of the Lemmy documentary that was on telly...specifically where he starts boasting about "banging" (as he puts it) all the other band members' wives/girlfriends?

Personally, I rolled my eyes and yawned as he dropped off the credibility scale quicker than Kanye West singing Bohemian Rhapsody whilst driving a tan Austin Allegro.

EDIT: Having just watched Ace of Spades at Glasto, I'd like to balance the above by saying "fair play" to Lemmy for that. It certainly beats some of the other crap we've heard this year.

8. Just realised when buying something tonight from ryancowell25, that my Bongo has been around even more folk than I originally thought! How it's so mint is beyond me. Doesn't even have the obligatory headstock chip. :-) Here's its path...

unknown (TB forum) -> garythenuke (EBMM forum Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo, California) -> unknown -perhaps Strontium Dog (Kevin, somewhere UK) -> Playground_Martyr (BC-er) -> ryancowell25 -> cocco (BC-er) -> Robert Manning (BC-er) -> mikegatward (BC-er) -> cloudburst (BC-er)
