6. I prefer a tube, as the strings are suspended in the fluid rather that lay at the bottom of the container in any residue which results in the process...
7. Maybe it's time to go back to Alnico or ceramic... http://www.guardian....technology-boom

10. Is there any noticeable difference in the bass response between the single and double ported 2 x 10 cabs?
11. Checkout Jay Leonhart on YouTube, "It's impossible to sing and play the bass"...
12. I don't own a effects pedal, sometimes use a little compression, but that's about it.
13. Nice storage solution, but far too heavy for gigging! Incidentally, if you have instrument insurance for accidental damage, check your policy conditions. My policy stipulates that: “Instruments and equipment will only be covered if items are transported in rigid bodied cases”.

Passive Tone Shaping

Thanks for your replies. The Varitone circuit has been around for decades, so if it did have any useful qualities I'd expect to have seen it more widely used. Regarding the Tonestyler, Ed Friedland wrote a glowing review for Jazz Times and has them fitted to a couple of his jazz basses. I have a diagram for a Varitone circuit so I may knock one up! That Wish bass looks positively medieval... Thanks John
15. Has anyone tried a Stellartone Tonestyler or Varitone pot on a P bass. I'm interested in the tonal variations with flats.
