1.
Allo! Moo - was that the `Italian' bass? Very tasty! I'd get a dummy hum canceller stuck on there - instant `Series II'!!
Yup... From Stefano. Can't believe the condition it's in seeing as it's a 1988 bass... You really could pass it off as new! Lovely!! I'll get a Series II soon, don't worry!
 2. Some great collections going on there... So here's my little bass history! Full details and some pictures... http://web.mac.com/themoo/Basses/moos_basses.html

I am totally in love with it!! John is sending me some hi res pics he did before sending it out. He's putting them on his site too!
 4.
So what's best - 'Lembic or 'Jaydee?
What day of the week is it???
 5. Just thought I'd pop my 1988 MK Sig Deluxe up here...
 6.
That's my favorite on this thread.
It was owned from new by Bob Skeet of Wishbone Ash. He sent it back to Rob in '86 to have the fret board done in the Sircote.... Same as the facing wood! Lovely bass now owned by André (Statii forum)
 7.
Moo! That Series II to the right of your red Series II looks like Jon Randle's (Doctor and The Medics) old bass - i thought that he'd sold it to Andre??? Again, a stunning display of Status basses! (not envious in any way shape or form!) Nick (nice to see me old red one thar!)
Spot on Nick... I swapped the one below with André for #147
 8.
why do you need that many? they are nice, but i get less excited about them when there are so many
It's a fair point!! As mentioned in the thread I've worked bloody hard in my life and I love these basses... Actually I love a few makes BUT Status has a very special place in my heart. So I have the older ones as objet d'art that I can enjoy looking at and the newer ones to play. There are stories behind a couple of them... The Series 2000 is very special to me as I bought it while I was on leave from The Marines back in 1986... My first proper bass. I had to sell it a couple of years later BUT was lucky enough to find it and get it back a couple of years ago. The FPPR I played in a shop in 1988 and was about to buy when I was sent off to do something for Her Majesty!!! So it was nice to be able to get that recently!
 9. Thanks for all your comments gentlemen! I am thoroughly chuffed to mess tins with this bass. It's way better than I had anticipated! Here she is with the rest of the girls...
 10. Some more Status for you... Strata #05 / Series II #94 / Series II #i47 / Series 2000 #106 / Series 2000 FPPR #327 / maple KB '05 / moo wood KB '06 / moo wood KB '07 Hope you like!
 11. Gentlemen The Eagle has landed...
 12. They both really 'borrowed' from Alembic... But seeing as there are 100's of bases 'borrowing' from Fender etc. then I don't thing we have any problems with variations on themes!! I love Pangborns... Wish I had one. The graphite neck ones are very desirable!
 13. Someone wanted a graphite Series 2000 to drool over!
 14. Yes it is... Although the shorter scale of the King Basses is much more comfortable I do like the long scale of the Alembo so I thought it might be nicer to have another long scale! Who knows until I get the bloody thing! Might be a post 'Child needs new family... Likes looking to the night sky!'
 15. I have 16.5mm on all my King Basses and also on my MK Alembic... The Alembo really does play itself!!! Unbelievable action on it! One of the next basses I order will be an original cherry red Series I JayDee... Just like Marks first one. Just love that bass. Then a pink one... Then a blonde Alembic MK... Then, then, then!! THEN I'LL GET MY VIGIER BACK
 16.
Wahey! Superb stuff Matt (Moo!) - I'm not at ALL envious (he says)! (...should get Neptune/Aqua back soon from John in the new livery! - sorry 4000, she's going trans cherry red). Er, not sure if Thom has ever owned the original Starchild, he does however own the very first JayDee bass that was built for Richard Ford - #001. Mark King sold the Starchild to the Bass Centre and it was bought in '98 by Morgan! Its a very heavy bass, the Kahler trem adds some weight. Are you getting hexagonal knobs on yours? Looks fantastic - really great! Thom's Starchild is obviously not an exact replica but its a lovely bass all the same! Cheers! Nick
Hey Nick I'm looking forward to seeing yours when it comes back... Very sexy bass!! You're right, Thom has (or had) lots of JayDee's but not the original Starchild. Would be interesting to know how many 'Starchilds' John has made!! Might just ask him! With my Starchild I asked John to keep it as close to the original as possible. Only thing I really wanted was a 16.5mm string spacing! So we'll see in maybe 2 weeks what she looks like!
 17.
Fantastic looking bass moo (all us statii members have been avidly following the completion of this bass!!) Tom Boyle also owns a stunning starchild replica which I had the pleasure of playing a couple of years ago (I think a pic of it was posted earlier in this thread) luverleeeee!!!!!!!! Cheers Dave
Thanks Dave... All getting a bit exciting now as we're maybe just over 2 weeks away from delivery!!! I think Thom had the original Starchild at some point!!
 18. Hello hello! Just thought you might like to see the build of my Starchild. Should be ready in 2 weeks! more soon!
 19.
yeah its a beauty.not bad for its age eh? i do tend to treat my basses with plenty of TLC!!
Do you have a picture of the back of the bass? Very nice. I owned one very similar to this but with original red LED's Also, what kind of price are you looking for?? Cheers moo
 20. One of my fav basses was a Vigier Arpege. Desperately trying to get one of those back!
