2. it actually is the mark king model, no difference , as mark king had moved onto tc electronics, they painted it black and stuck another signature on it
3. some good advice here guys, firstly , i am a self tought player , ive never had one lesson in my life , so my left hand does leave a little to be desired at times , but thats mainly because ive got a 3rd finger that i cant really control to well, so ive had to adapt , but hey, i can play a little its been like this with anything i do, and isnt down to a bad technique, it kinda moves when i move my index finger, but as i go higher up the neck , i can use it depending , neither have i used strengthening aids , your strength will come from practice alone, and theres no point making your fingers stronger if you dont know what to do with them on the fretboard . so the point i'm making is, just practice and go with the flow, everyone is built slightly different , so go for what feels comfortable with you , but apply the wrist rule , and whats been said before , play slowly with a light touch , you'll become a faster player in the long run by sticking with that, to many people try to get to quick to fast , your accuracy will be better later on from doing this and everything else will fall into place , jeeeze , i need a balti after that , nom nom nom
4. unlucky dude , but hey , we were considered from 100 from all over the country and some from overseas, down to 25 for the live audition , it would of been close by all 25, as everyone who went, could obviously play the tracks and sing them .... one tip i have learnt is, take an active and a passive , my sterling was booming and i couldnt hear a great deal , nor could i hear the backing vocals well as they positioned us right on top of michaels drum kit lol , i'm sure you had the same problem , its something to be proud of linus so dont feel deflated at all , WE SURE KNOW FOR NEXT TIME and there will be others , now lets get a rockin
5. only as they were brummies seashell some of taylors basslines were pretty cool to be fair , try rio hehe machines ahhh didnt notice that dude
6. welcome snorkie to the wonderfull world of the fat strings

8. rushbo , yeah you can have £5 , my good friend birdy will give it you
9. yeah i agree there tony , naked , kneeling towards the hot stones , (seashell that is , not us) while we all whip her with G-strings and the odd B string , while she plays planet earth by brummie band duran duran on bass she's allowed only 2 mistakes , then she's one of us, LETS DO IT...........
10. hehe i may just stay here so you chose to live here eh seashell , its your round then , get em in lol and i hear that bluejay , i used to play in the grove right outside the house where some of black sabbath used to live, so rock was drilled into my blood from young
11.
Ooh, Harsh! Anyway, anyone who took the time to apply and those who got a bigger stab at this, is a big boy in my book. Remember, it's not the size of your instrument, but how you twang it!
hehe that made me laugh , nice 1 good luck linus

14. i was gonna use that name but thought nahhhh it must have gone lmao
15. hehe yeah, but you just warmed her up for the bigger boys lmao , i did wipe the jack first anyways i'm guessing , if there isnt much to split between some of the bassists regarding playing and vocal abilities , i;m sure they'd opt for a more local player to them, 25 did the live audition from around 80-100 applicants, and quite a few of those were from leeds and surrounding areas, as i did ask the question, i'm never lucky , so i very much doubt ive got it , so good luck mr custard and that goes to all the others that went for it ...... keep a rockin
16. so your not one then hehe, thanks for the welcome BJ
17. hello all you slappers ;-) just thought i'd say a quick hello as ive just joined this wonderfull forum, im from birmingham england , ive been playing for 25 years and can play all styles, but for jazz hehe that kinda makes my ears bleed sometimes ... catch you in the forums ;-)
18. hi all, i did the live audition with them aswell , didnt play my best to be fair, as the sound in there was booming as i had an active bass, my trusty musicman sterling, justin said he hates active basses, as they dont suit their setup, oh sheeet, but i do have a passive at home, all be it a bit late then ;-) but my vocals were ok, which is what they seem very keen on the players being able to do , i played 4 songs with them, and i'd learnt 8 tracks just on that one offchance ,gotta be prepared lol , i hav'nt heard anything back from them either yet , they were great blokes , very friendly and welcoming, had a few pictures with them aswell ;-) good luck all who went.... yay my first post complete ;-)
