  1. *sold**sold*Greetings legendary bassist, both these p's are available, The Mex Vintera Red or the standard Mex Blue will be £575 now £500 This will be the last price drop.Once one goes, the other stays the red has some scratches to the paintwork that are surface scratches that's why I've kept it as low as the standard, but the kids pay loads for road worn basses and its all the rage, so I'm told. The only reason for the sale is that I am now endorsed and want to thin the herd... Have an incredible day, they are reduced to sell so please keep that in mind as I think its a fair price.

Cash on collection please, stoke ST1 area, both basses are exceptional instruments. Not looking to trade, so please don't offer.

Have a superb day...more photos are on Facebook market place...if you like that sort of thing

  2. Probably belongs elsewhere, so sorry if I posted in the wrong area. I'm about to start playing a five string to see what all the fuss is about. The main band I'm in.. involves me mainly being in eb tuning with the occasional dropc eb, so my question to you experienced lovely lot. Would you tune the b string up to to a c. Play the lines in the same way not utilising the b as much, or change the bass lines you have to play the same tunes in a different way with everything half a step down and rework stuff out...

I'm sure it's going to take a fair bit of effort in my part but keen to know how others have got on and how they've found it...

    Thanks in advance...

Hope your sale goes through, just looking for some advice on your bass as I want a fanfret, never played one before.  How good are these and would you recommend a fanfret?  Any advice or experience would be appreciated

Cheers man, fanned fretts I found easy to get on with its just ....different you do adapt slightly. I always find this comfortable to play...

  4. Hello All,

Here we have an absolute beast of a bass, currently I'm bandless and as we know covid is effecting our fine art. It's priced to sell as I cannot really justify having three basses at present, Its a wonderful instrument to play and own, with incredible tone for days. Collection from Stoke and cash is king, as always. I wont dispatch, post or muck about with sending it anywhere, sorry that's my choice as I want it to be pristine when you get it. I cannot stress how comfortable the fanned fret is and part of me will be gutted to see it go, this gathering dust is just criminal. Happy Sunday, come grab a bargain..

Hey, I'm interested in this bass but wouldn't be able to travel to Stoke to collect until lockdown is over. Just registering my interest!

That's sound and understandable, thanks for the interest.

  6. Hello Bass Brothers and Sisters,

Please find for sale this wonderful Sandberg Basic 4, don't let the name fool you, it's anything but..

It growls, is both active and passive and plays like a dream, its been gigged but well looked after serviced Rich Stubbs who's a fine tech in the local area of Stoke where it is currently living.

I'm up for a swap to a high quality P with a maple neck, whichever way we trade you will have to come to me as i don't drive, I wont ship and cash is king, sorry but I want it to go to a good home. I realise that sounds daft but its served me well and yes I'm that picky.

The original hardware was silver and the pick guard was white, these have all been replaced with Sandberg official parts in black and it looks spot on in my humble opinion.I can dig out the original parts as part of the sale of course, the bass will also come with the hardcase pictured.

The pros; it plays superbly and will never let you down, prepare to intimidate the living crap out of your drummer (don't pretend you don't want to) and also has a ridiculously fast neck ..

The cons; the battery cover lid is broken, notorious with these I've replaced it twice in the end I gave up and electrical tape does the job just fine. There is also a nail mark above the pick up, strangely shaped like mine and the e off the Sandberg logo is missing (it fell off) I left replacing it as it seemed more rock n roll ..these points however are clearly visible in the photo's

Thank you for looking and have an epic day..

    You need it.
