1.
Correct. Well, for Sims LEDs anyway.
Yeah - possibly they were talking about the MECs...
  2.
Any other colour LEDs and I would be severely tempted! Red just isn't my colour.
Hi there, it's my understanding that the color of the LEDs is controlled by a circuit rather than each LED itself being a specific color. Which in theory means that changing the circuit would mean changing the color. It would be worth checking with Sims though, they're very responsive on email. Thanks Lex
  3.
Yeah, they are both nice. I think white looks great. I have three white guitars and two white basses, with a third possibly being added soon. I'd choose white over some poncey flame maple any day of the week (and twice on Sundays).
I hear ya - I'm not a huge fan of figured woods. Having said that though, my next Streamer Stage 1 is flamed maple
  4.
That's really nice! Never seen a white one before
Thanks matey!
  5.
It wasn't a diss mate! The best things are the tried and tested! The white bass really works. Like the Fender Jazz bass. Why is it copied so much? Because it works! And yeah, it's a gorgeous looking bass! Painted fingerboards are great - and yeah, I would get an all white bass without thinking about it. They are simply the best stage basses. Ever.
All good mate - yeah, they definitely are a head turner... plus they go nicely with what ever outfit you're *forced* to wear for the gig hahah!

  7.
Nah Stage 1 man, Stage II's don't have soapbars, well very rarely. And also that's Lex's 2nd one, the first one cracked.
Yeah, that's true. Some muppet at the airlines dropped something on it while I was on tour, cracking the body. Morons. As for day-to-day use and wear; I use this bass pretty much every day of the week (gigs, rehearsals, practice) and there's zero fingerboard wear. I've been doing this for well over a year. @ EBS_freak - sure, it has been done before... but who hasn't paid respect to their influences at some time during their career? I'm happy to say that all 3 players you mentioned have been influential on my playing and I'm probably better for having listened to them. Lex

Where you gigging tonight?
Thanks matey Playing the Zipper Factory Theatre off Broadway on 37th St Manhattan. Tonight's show is with Miss Angelina, she's a hip-hop artist. Should be a good show! Will try and get some photos. Lex

    Hello from NYC

Thanks for the warm welcome and compliments guys!
  14. Hey everyone I'm an Australian bass player living in New York. I play mostly Warwick gear (soon to add number 4), and also have a couple of Fenders. Next bass on order is an Alleva Coppolo 5-string.. lovely basses and made here in the Big Apple! Amp-wise I have a Trace Elliot V-type rig and mega stack back home; I'm about to get an Aguilar rig for NYC. I've been playing now for 10 years; I was gigging quite heavily back home in Australia (with various bands) and decided to pack up and move to New York last year. I'm now performing here with a number of artists - I'd love to meet up with anyone in the NYC area so PM me. Some of my stuff: More details at: http://www.alexissadler.com and http://www.myspace.com/lexsadler Cheers Lex
  15.
Ive never been lucky enough to meet any famous bassists, id love to meet Paul - love his playing and his sound, and love the Jamiroquai band! He sounds like a sound fella too. Higgie, didnt you have Paul at one of your gigs? If I saw a hero of mine in the crowd id instantly screw up for fear of another muso judging my bass playing! And I think i would wet my pants if I met Marcus Miller.
He came down to a show I played in London a while ago. I was a little nervous as the gig was unrehearsed and pretty much an impromptu jam. Turned out ok (higgie, back me up here mate!)... Paul's a great player and all-round gentleman - he's always up for a beer and some bass chat - very friendly guy.
I wish I could meet someone like that. With the guy's I play with, they start on 11 and get louder!!
Jay turns everyone else on stage down BUT himself... I don't know if I could cope with his vocals blasting through the foldback! Lex
  16.
Alexis is a good friend of mine - He actually now has 2 of the white basses (which WERE inspired by Zender's) but the first one got a crack in the body from flying internationally, so he had a second one made.
Ahh Higgeth... good to see ya on here matey! Here's a pic of the whole family together: Those basses were definitely inspired by Zender's bass... Although as far as originality goes, Prince had 3 all-white thumb basses (one of which he gave to Rhonda Smith) and Sonny Thompson had an all-white Dolphin. All stunning basses. Oh and lets not forget Larry Graham and his all-white Moon Basses Glad you guys like the vids!! Lex
