What do you guys think? As a metal bass player myself, I'm interested in what he's talking about with putting out some gear for us bass players!

    THIS VIDEO IS SICK!! :D

Hence, my attraction to the B7K..

I feel like the BB is too warm and fuzzy. I'm looking for something more.. metallic, I guess.

Maybe it's not new stuff but i've found a band called Liquid Break
    Nice ...very nice imho.

I just wondering hows the bassist floor setup looks like.

    Very clean, I like it.

You should be able to get pretty damn close with the b3k.
Alright, thanks.
it is a tube-screamer based design... i sold my old bassdrive and got an xotic bass BB preamp
Good suggestion! I'll check it out, thank you!
Now I have to decide between the BB and the B3K..

  5.
Isn't it a tube screamer derivative?
First I've heard of it!
I would get a Darkglass B7K but they're so expensive..
    How's the B3K compared to the '7K?
Can I still get a Periphery sound out of it? *thread hijack*

    New interview up!

Shep on Bass - Interview: Daniel Steinhardt/TheGigRig

I present to you Daniel Steinhardt.

Dan is a tone-obsessed guitarist and the man behind TheGigRig, the company responsible for bringing you the worlds first and most powerful programmable effects switching system.

Check out what he had to say about his products, his music and of course, his tone...
Good stuff! Although during the Tin Spirit videos I admit I was more interested in the Warwick that guy was playing.. ;)
    Keep it up!

    I have another for you!

Shep on Bass - Interview: Taylor Livingston/Iron Ether

Taylor Livingston is the man behind Iron Ether.

Iron Ether have made a real splash in the world of effects, creating gorgeous etched pedals that sound absolutely stunning. Taylor tackles the job of creating pedals by filling holes left by other pedal manufacturers and giving his pedals unique twists and features... Truly innovative signal processors!

    YES
    FINALLY
    WOO
    Gotta read this one!

  8. I have the XP100, there's tons of latency, bad tracking, and horrible sounds, definitely more for guitar!
I admit I haven't tried the Whammy 5 on the bass yet, but that one has no latency that I noticed. The best choice, of course, would be the real Bass Whammy, but those things are highly rare and sell for a lot, about 700-900$. I'd say go with the 5.

    More pedal mayhem...

Shep on Bass - Interview: Benjamin Hinz/Dwarfcraft Devices

Ben (or Benjamin) also uses the name Aen amongst others. When asked which name should be used here he simply replied, "I am known by many names, and all of these are false!"

Ben is the man behind Dwarfcraft Devices, a company making a serious name in creating some of the noisiest and most 'off-the-wall' effects pedals in the world. Dwarfcraft's dirt and synthy/glitch devices have been finding homes on more and more artist's pedal boards than you can shake a stick at and once you hear some of the toys on offer it's easy to see why!
Ah yes! A great pedalbuilder! I certainly appreciated this one. :)
All these builders I want to work for..

Yeh, I wish more people would do the "night shot". When I get more power, it's going to look like you're flying over new york

The Ibanez is an SS10 chorus-distortion. It's actually my favorite dirt pedal on both bass and guitar. You can have the two effects in either series of parallel. It's very responsive to dynamics, really boosts the high mids, and gets very very nasty when you dig in. I really want to buy some more because i'm worried it'll break soon and i've no idea how to re-create the sound.

The black pedal with a pink strip is an arion analogue delay which I use to make oscillations
Ridiculous!
I'm going to have to check that out..

I was having fun with this lot last night. It's ages since I made time to play on my own plugged in, and it was so much fun!! I have my sounds down perfectly now. If only I had some more PSUs I could add on my jamman, slicer, XXL, OC2... Maybe it's best that I don't :)
Ahh, the fabled 'night shot'.. ;)
Great pick of effects, I might add. How's the old Ibanez flanger on bass? And what's that black Boss pedal with the pink stripe?

  12.
OK, slight tweak to my band board...

finding I don't use o/d or distortion that much in this band, so boost and fuzz FTW!!

have to say, the montavillian is a cracking little delay, and is exactly what I've been looking for (been on a bit of a delay quest in recent months - malekko and subdecay casualties in the FS threads!!). it's perfect for echo, and atmospheric sounds and oscillations, but was surprised how well it cleaned up (the tone knob for repeats is very useful)...

i do need more stickers though :)
Great simple board! One question: What board are you using? Pedaltrain Mini?
