The HK 7 String (The same one as in the video) I bought was really shoddily made and played poorly. Sounded nice but that was all I could really give you a positive on.
-
May be bringing my Musicman Stingray SUB 4 to sell if anyone is interested
-
Please read the FAQs at the top of the forum. You MUST set a price in all adverts. Also try and get the right part of the forum to post in next time. I have moved this to amp and cab classifieds section. Rob

Mmm,didnt think an Item for trade needs a sale price! Have rules changed?
Yes they have. Theres big announcement threads in site issues and classifieds. Please follow them ASAP or I will delete the thread. -
Ziphoblat you still need to put a price value on your cab as per forum rules, please do this asap.
Also you must follow the 36 hour bump rule, merely deleting your previous bumps does not do you any favours! -

Yeah some charts for the original tunes with important parts scored out, for any covers I'm sure there are charts in the real book etc, we also like a free approach - improvising and seeing where it goes, it could be anything from odd time sigs to funk, swing, latin whatever...and sometimes yes just shouting a key...just enjoying making music. If you fancy it pm me and we'll set up a meet!
Ahh thats the problem, I cant read music!
Ah well -
Would love to do this, but not sure my skills are up to scratch. Do you use charts or anything? Or just shout a key and go with it?
-
Just gotten it back and pleased to say Martin did a great job. I like a nice bit of fret rattle when I play (But not too much!)and it was spot on! £35 is a bargain considering the prices other places charge in London. (Though admittedly not as good as Steve Baker at Electric Ladylands £10 specials, but hey I am not in Bristol anymore!)
Had a nice discussion working out a refret for my Gibson RD and fingerboard refinish. Will probably be going back before the weekend! -
Hmm looks like i'll be taking the Fender and Grabber as both the 7 string fretless and Gibson RD are going to be taken to a luthier friend of mine!
-
Hey guys.
I have just received a 3 point Hipshot super tone bridge for my bass.
My question is, did you remove the original threaded insert for the now redundant central bolt? What is the suggested way? Problem is, the threaded insert is really stuck in and I cant find a way to get it out without destroying the thread!
Cheers!
Rob. -
Now reduced to just £38. FIRM. Get a bargain here folks!
-
Well, I have taken it to the gallery, see what happens eh! It would be nice to have a setup from a bass player!
-
Heya guys. Thanks for the recommendations so far.
Sort of hoping it would be a luthier rather then a shop doing it. The Gallery is a bit far and when I visited for the first time the other day, the guy seemed more interested in his laptop then anything else. -
Hey guys.
I really want a professional to go over my Gibson Grabber, basically I want a damn fine setup. It is currently fairly decent action, however I reckon it could go lower and needs a better shim and possibly the nut to be cut down a bit.
Anybody know someone who is very very good in London? Preferably in South London. But not a deal breaker. I have read the list in the repairs forum, but I want to go to someone to personally recommend me someone!
Rob. -
With the utmost respect I couldnt afford that pre-amp! Need something probably second hand, max I would spend would be £100!
Pickups are $235 for the set. -
Hey guys.
Received a 7 string fret-less bass from German Ebay.
It is actually quite impressive player, but I reckon it could be better!
35Inch scale.
Kent Armstrong pups.
Wilkinson hardware.
D'addario strings.
Anyway. Decided to ditch the Kent Armstrongs (Though they sound good, one of the screws is really badly stripped and try as I might will probably have to be broken to get out.)
I have ordered some custom SGD Lutherie 7 string pickups. I have asked the guy to get me an aggressive Ken Smith Hi-Fi tone with exposed blades that are notched end to end.
I have also ordered a new one piece hipshot bridge, the string spacing is right at 16.5mm. However will probably have to recess the bridge into the body to get the action low enough as there is no suitable low profile bridge suitable for this bass.
The fretboard will lightly sanded to get rid of the current string marks and finished in epoxy to protect it.
Thinking about getting some front facing inlays installed as well because I get really lost on something this big! Not sure what type of inlays as I find they look ugly on a lined fret-less bass.
I also want to buy a preamp and was hoping on a Glock one, but the seller pulled out on the deal. Anyone got ideas on a 5 knob pre-amp? -

I would rather have to deal with time wasters, then see good honest members being left bad feedback because of a simple mistake, misunderstanding or bad accident.
Alternatively to the people who want Non transactional feedback I ask...
Is it worth the cost to screw all those good honest members who are left bad feedback because of a simple mistake, misunderstanding, bad accident and screw the moderators who have to deal with fallout back and forth argument, just so you can have the convenience of not having to deal with 2nd+ occurrence time wasters? (This on the assumption you actually read the feedback thread in the first place)
Remember, nothings going to stop people from Time wasting the first time. So you'll still get time wasters even if we allowed non transaction feedback. -
If a transaction doesn't complete, because one party say, doesn't actually send the goods, that is something I'm going to want to know about.
If someone has paid money for something, that counts as a transaction. So if the goods didn't arrive then bad feedback can be left. -
With the exception of non-delivery, these are surely all more subjective (and therefore more likely to lead to disputes as to whether negative feedback is justified) than someone backing out of a transaction?
Which we deal with already and 99% in private with PMs. However considering practically every advert has time wasters, the sheer weight of complaints and bad feedback towards time wasters would create way more work and disputes.
Time wasting happens everyday, it's why people just accept it as part and parcel of advertising in classified sections. I am on the receiving on end of as much time wasting as anybody else. I can deal with it.
Members are asking us for a solution, but I don't think we can provide one that is fair for everyone. Its a problem without a true 100% fair solution.

Do you allow feedback for transactions outside of BC? because transactions within BC have got evidence of their existence. guess the only thing that wouldn't be on bc would be affiliate discounts, and that really isn't much to do with BC, you are just ragging on a business after getting a discount.
We have banned people in the past for doing bad deals on other sites and we had proof of it occurring but this has been sortedin PMs as it is a very rare occurrence. Some new members have posted in off topic about a bad deal done with a BC member outside of BC, however we have always deleted them and asked them to PM us about it because we don't know if it is true or false statement. If it turns out to be a true then we question the BC member and possibly ban them if we have reasonable proof.
Transactions can occur on BC between BC members without an advert being put up. Even if there was a classified ad, M1 could just claim that a deal had been agreed on, but M2 pulled out. M1 leaves bad feedback, even though there was no actual contact in the first place.
We don't allow "Public" Feedback from deals done on other sites. However we will take it into account privately and possibly ban there account so our members dont have to deal with them.
Opening up public feedback for time wasters and non transactions opens up the ability for users to abuse that system. -
I PM block anyone who makes stupid lowballs, which sort of sorts that, but turns out PM blocking doesn't work like I thought it did.
That is a forum software issue like we mentioned to you before, there is nothing we can do about it. -
Also imagine a scenario where feedback can be left for non transactions.
"M1 hates M2 for an unspecified reason. He posts in the feedback thread claiming that a deal fell through (Even though M2 wasn't selling or buying anything in the first place). Moderators and members have no proof that a deal had occurred or not. M1 could be just making something up just to make M2 seem like a bad seller/buyer. Yet the feedback still stands because we allow feedback for non transactions."
Yes M2 can reply to the feedback stating it is not true. But it is still a black mark on an otherwise clean record and that is not fair on M2. -
Yeah, that's what I'm after, means I can see who are idiots I don't want to deal with, the whole point of feedback. Restricting it to niceties just gives a false reflection of reality and renders it all a bit pointless.
You missed the "Increase in moderator intervention part".
Moderators are not paid and subsequently we have always stated that we do not bear any responsibility on deals that may or may not have occurred. Though we do try to help and act as an intermediary as much as we can.
For especially bad behavior, you can report it to us, we have an internal warning system we use. Though we have never banned anyone for time wasting alone, we have banned people who seriously screw over people with transactions and non transactions, especially If we feel they are not benefiting the community.
So to reiterate.
I would rather not implement a system for public feedback of time wasters as it can open up the feedback forums to abuse. However we can deal with them in private which can result in a ban so they would no longer be able to waste your time. If you feel you are getting hard done by in a deal please report it to us. If they have multiple reports against them then we will ban them. That is the best I can offer at the moment. -
Feedback goes two ways, if someone is chucking about unwarranted negs, and generally acting like a tit, I'm happy to know that and not deal with them. Definitely a disservice to restrict feedback that is of interest to potential traders. Even if they can't put it into public, they can still be a nutpain not in public, and that is relevant to people anticipating dealing with them in future.
Opening up the feedback forum for non transactions/time-wasting will cause slanging matches, poor/non valid reasons for bad feedback and an large increase in moderator intervention.
If there was a system we could put in place where genuine time wasters were found to pull out of a deal for a non genuine reason (And we could 100% verify it) then I would like to hear it.

Does anyone have a Jazz or Precision (or both!) that they're bored of and fancy sending to a new home? Think I need some more normal basses for demoing Barefaced cabs on t'interweb, don't need anything new/shiny and quite happy to have a Squier or suchlike. As long as it sounds good unplugged I'll be happy, electronics can be changed. And I'm ok with stupidly high actions and fat necks. Anyway, if you do, bring it along! I'll be interested to hear what everyone makes of the wee prototype I'm bringing along...
Well I have a Musicman Stingray SUB USA 4 String which I guess you can call a "Normal" bass if you fancy it? It's pretty cheap for what it is!
