"Five days later I get a phone call “Hello Mr Smith, it’s Customs and Excise here”. They had my guitar at the airport, it’s now only 30 miles away from me. They’re concerned that the fretboard is Rosewood (its not), and that it will need certification. They ask me to put it in writing that it is not rosewood, and that if I lie it’s a criminal offence etc. As she hangs up I swear her mutter something about Leroy getting a new twink for his cell."
What's the deal with importing rosewood fretboard necks?
(BTW Nice colour ... I had one of the "sonic blue" ones. Least blue thing I'd ever had - had to swap it for a red one... which is most certainly red)CITES: https://www.cites.org/

Watched the full documentary last night, as it was repeated. Some total gems: Matt or Luke said in all seriousness, 'Taken my lead from Stevie Wonder, I don't believe in superstition'!
The faces of the musos as they tried to rehearse with this pair of petulant children were amusing, given they had to remain very tactful. Someone must have put together a lucrative deal for the reunion, as the twins had very real issues with each other ( and reality)!

Nice review, but can I be the first to point out the pickups seem installed crooked....

About £200 more than they're worth, mainly due to the awful relicing...

I had someone
birdat my old accountants quote me just shy of 300quid to taxi my accounts back to Devon from BuckinghamshireI suggested they were posted (about 3 quid) and she seemed to find this somewhat strange.........
not as strange as the fuel & pollution involved in sending a hire care on a 500mile trip.........
(I've got nice sensible accountants now)
😎
I've corrected this for you 🙄

I just noticed: this is not a real photo. Those knobs are photoshopped on there. That. Is Weird. Funny how they strung it with D'Addario by the way. I think I would string my promo bass with unrecognizable strings (so no Fenders or D'Addario's).
and the Markbass logo on the pickups is not on the full size photos either...

I played a wedding gig once where the waiting staff were opera- type singers incognito and the whole premise was to make them appear if they were just regular guys/girls and they suddenly started singing (after the meal had been served). It was quite effective and went on for about 30 minutes: they did all the old hits like Nesum Dorma......

My first bass was a Gibson EB2 which was the same instrument. Got it in 1974 for £50! I remember inside it had a 'made in kalamazoo' sticker was made in 62 or 64 and the Epiphones were made there too. Incidentally I was told the body was exactly the same size as the 335 guitar equivalent.
It came with flats and I struggled to get a decent sound from it as I knew nothing about Basses or backline then. My rig was a Truevoice (Selmer T&B) 50 watt valve amp and a homemade 1x15 cabinet the size of a small house....

I've experienced a similar feeling when a band who asked me to audition for sent me their setlist and my heart sunk. I got back to them and said 'really its not for me' and they said 'well come along anyway and see if you like us' I did and they were nice guys but the material was not inspiring enough for me to join them however.

FWIW the Jeff Berlin signature combo does not have a tweeter.
