thanks all for the info! much appreciated, youl be glad to hear im not going to take it. But still on the look out for a similar priced P bass or Jazz bass but must have maple neck! Or also interested in a Jaguar or mustang bass. Let me know if you know of anything suitable!

Very good points, I had wondered that about it myself. Im not able to go and the view the bass currently and needed a second opinion. Thanks very much. Im starting to wonder if money could be better spent on something else. Cant really make a judgement without seeing it firsthand.

Would £600 be a decent price for it? Im looking for a work horse rather than a collectors item so I think this suits quite well.
