trying to remember as it's been 30 years! but it was a medium scale sg type bass that came in a vinyl cover & I didn't have a bass amp so plugged it straight into my dad's hi fi amp...........soon to be replaced by a jap jazz copy in sunburst with a warped neck & carlsbro cobra 60w combo which my dad signed gaurantor for. Happy days! Lazz

Have a bump, very underated cabs........ Have got 2 of the 4x10 variants

awesome line, I love playing it, keyboard intro & all.............

Based on the description given, I think it's a bit overpriced.... £800to £900 if it plays & sounds nice. Heavy weight may not be a problem to some, & may even be a bonus to others! Not me though...

Each to their own! But for me, rehearsals are'nt for having fun........ I'm there to work & expect everyone else to work too! Go hard or go home........

first gig last night with the P...... with my main outfit Bad Dog, playing classic rock covers so I felt the bass was really well suited. Was nice not to have to keep unplugging it inbetween sets as I do with the Ray and it felt nice in my hands. Soundwise, it had a nice thump at the bottom end with a slightly raspy top, I liked it although it was quite different to the ray!
Looking forward to getting to know the p better over the next few gigs!

Thanks guys......
Yeah, a set of jim dunlop strap locks fitted at the store......just in case!
Hopefully i'm sorted re gas for a good while, having a stingray & a jazz too. Oh, & a peavey 5 stringer should I ever need it (hopefully not!)
HMM maybe a mim fretless jazz too?? -
Just taken delivery of this brand new Fender USA Precision in 3 t/s with rosewood........
First impressions are thus, super case & a quality look & feel to the instrument. Nice lowish action right out of the box. Am gigging tonight so will give it a workout & report back if anyone's interested? Cheers. Lazz -
Has to be both! I've got a 74 jazz that i use for recording mainly & I'll never sell it.......... but I'm really excited about the brand new 3TS/rosewood Precision USA that i'm picking up on thurs!! :-)

I have just got the Line 6xt pro rack unit & early signs are very good but really haven't had time to play with it much as yet...............

How about some early Police stuff?? Think Sting often used a fretless P on the live stuff at least...........

I'm a big Pino Fan! But for me, I would rather see him with Mayer or The Who........ I found that clip soul less albeit technically brilliant. Not my cup of tea at all!

Onstage at the Town Hall may 2009 -
I'm another natural left hander (writing, eating etc) that learned to play right handed from scratch as the only guitar in the house when i was 4 or 5 was my Dad's right handed flamenco guitar...........

My main drummer is getting there now after lots of "encouragement" from me! However my biggest pet peeve is when the count in doesn't match the tempo he starts playing.......

Well I really enjoyed the whole thing, especially Joss and Mr Clapton.... In fact it made for a highly pleasurable fri night in on the sofa

Just had a really enjoyable couple of days at Fairview studios in Hull & the results can be heard here...... http://www.baddog-band.co.uk/15.html
Opinions welcomed! I used my stringray 4 mic'd through a Yamaha bbt500 head and a pair of Yamaha 4x10s. John Spence, the engineer said he loved the sound of it. I'm also doing backing vocals on all three tracks.
Cheers Guys (and Gals!)

Many years ago, I advertised my Aria SB1000 for sale in the Hull Daily Mail and took a phone call from a guy that wanted to try it.. I duly set my bass gear up in my Dad's garage and waited for the doorbell to ring. On opening the door I was surprised to see not just one lad, but several. They all trooped through my folks house, down the garden and into the garage....... "are you a band" I says, "yeah we are and we've just been given a record deal and a bit of cash to spend" one of 'em regailed, "cool, what are you called?" I nonchalantly enquired. "The Housemartins!" said the spokesman........
Well, I played a bit for them, they bought the bass and the rest is pop history!

Yes, always liked the work of Paul Spencer Denman, fellow citizen (originally from Hull) Wish I'd had the balls to clear off down to London in the eighties like he did....... you never know!
