It's not even a complete replica for that £12k - where is the Yamaha BB3000 bridge pickup that was fitted to Phil's #1?
That pickup, as I understand it was on the maple boarded #2 bass. #1 as used on Live & Dangerous just had the standard pickup & rosewood board...... cheers

I usually find a bit of nose or forehead grease does the trick!

Sad news, sincere condolences.......

Yes, the decal doesn't look in keeping with a 62.......

I've been using Hercules for a few years now- without any issues...... But nothing beats my old trusty Valan Atlas pneumatic! You could easily kill someone with one swipe

Wowza! Very nice......

My dear departed Uncle Mike, introduced me to Back Door 20 years ago & bought me Colin Hodgkinson's solo CD about 5 years ago, which I enjoy listening to from time to time... Amazing player!

I saw them in '83 at Leeds Queen's Hall on the Farewell Tour (Thunder & Lightning) I was totally blown away by Phil's sheer presence & the power of the band! Absolutely seminal moment, never forgotten..... RIP!!

I always take a bass rig or combo which basically acts as a monitor for me & DI out into the FOH PA........ the only time I don't go through the PA is if it's a tiny room & the PA is just being used for vocals. I usually try & get out front at soundcheck to see how the bass & drums sound.

Saw it, loved it, & yes, not ashamed to admit that it brought a tear to my eyes on more than one occasion!

Yep, a crazy idea! Can you convince him to wear IEMs- he can have it as loud as he wants then!

Stunning looking thing!

woot - another gig to add to the official live releases that I'm on (on the Super Deluxe version)
Still, sometimes it's better if you can't hear Metallica's bass
Deary me boys...

That's a mighty fine bass for little ££s!

The only one that I don't gig these days is the '74 Jazz, studio & home use only now.... The 2 US Precisions & Stingray are my workhorses now
-
Loving that, very very nice!

Anything after '89!

Absolutely no good reason to have those PA cabs at the back! Sorry but it'd be them, or me that goes!
