1. Hi MBA, Thanks very much for the advice. I had a Hohner Jack that was starting to go the same way, so assumed it was a common problem across these kind of bridges. I'll have a crack at stripping the bridge and greasing. Many thanks for the offer r.e. the inserts - I'll let you know. Cheers Graham
2. Hi Guys, The 'tuners' on my Steinberger Q4 bridge are impossibly stiff - to the point were I have to tune up with a screwdriver. Has anyone had similar issues with steinberger hardware and found a solution ? Thanks in anticipation Cheers Graham
3. Cheers bigd Couple of photos of the Microkorg and the Roland Piano Plus's added. I'll add more on request - if anyone wants photos, or any specific photos please let me know. The SY, D50 and CS1X all look pretty much as you would imagine - only with cosmetic usage consistent with age. Keybs aren't as exciting as Basses to look at I find..
4. Never seen one of these before - not interested in buying, just curious. Body shaped and refinished or genuine rarity ? Any ideas ? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1984-VINTAGE-MUSICMAN-STINGRAY-BASS-Parts-Prototype-Project-NORDSTRAND-/161908498990?hash=item25b27fa22e:g:6W8AAOSwYHxWP3pJ
5. Hi All, Having a bit of a clearout. So various bits for sale. Korg Microkorg XL Plus. Limited Edition. Red and Black Model. As new but no box. Comes with mic & PSU. £200 http://i.korg.com/MicroKorgXL+ Yamaha SY85. Late 90's workstation. Good condition. £100 http://www.vintagesy...yamaha/sy85.php Roland D50. Classic 1980s synth. Few small issues - one of the patch bank buttons not working, couple of unresponsive keys. Everything fine over MIDI though. £200 http://www.vintagesy.../roland/d50.php NOW SOLD[s] Yamaha CS1X. funky little synth. Fully working now with new PSU but one of the pedal input jacks has been damaged. £80 http://www.vintagesy...yamaha/cs1x.php [/s] NOW SOLD [s]Roland Piano Plus EP11 I have two of these. Early 80's analog electric pianos. These sound very quirky and come with built in drum sounds from the TR series (!). They are also a useful source of spare parts for the more collectible Roland Synths of the period (same keybed as a Juno 60). I loathed to break these up for spares though. 1 of them is in good condition comes with the very rare original accessories - Roland gigbag, Keyboard cover and sustain pedal. £150 for this one The other one is a little bit more sorry for itself cosmetically, but still working nicely. £60 http://www.matrixsyn...1-keyboard.html [/s] Also up for trades - let me know what you've got.. Collection from Huddersfield only, but happy to meet up on my travels also. Any questions please PM. Cheers Graham
6. Great guy - brought my Kif acoustic bass and generously supplied coffee and chat ! Highly recommended guy to do biz with.
7. Any interest ? Might be up for trades on interesting synths (Auturia Minibrute etc)
8. Any takers ? Might be up for swaps for an Auturia Minibrute or similar..
9. Quick and dirty recording bump. Forgive the playing - its been a long week. Dry with SE X1 mic from about 6 inches https://soundcloud.com/miraclesilk/kif-mic-only Dry from pickup https://soundcloud.com/miraclesilk/kif-pickup-only Blend with a bit of verb, chorus and compression. https://soundcloud.com/miraclesilk/kif-blend-verb-chorus-comp
10. Now sold subject to payment. Thanks for the interest guys.
11. Hi Scrumpymike, and thanks for answering alyctes. Exactly as the man says - Paul Rose (Prose) was building basses in (I think) Lancashire a few years ago. Sadly I think he has stopped building which is a real shame since he did some really cool and interesting stuff - like this :- http://basschat.co.uk/topic/88228-prose-bass-short-scale-headless-price-reduction/ The fretless is a really excellent little bass - I'm only selling because as I say I hate nice instruments not getting used, and I've got my beaten up old Ibanez if the fretless urge overtakes me. Forgot to say - this also has a very useful neutrik locking jack socket on it.
12. Open to offer to see this go to a good home type bump..
13. Hi, let me know where you are - I travel a fair bit so might be able to deliver / meet up. I should be clear r.e. the case. It comes with a Warwick Cello gigbag. I don't know if it would fit in a cello hardcase (might be slightly the wrong shape).
14. The wife actually quite likes it - its certainly a talking point.
15. Hi S Thanks. Its a very cool thing - I used it for a couple of pub jams acoustically and its certainly got enough volume to sit behind an acoustic and vocals. i would say its slightly less loud than a double bass, but rather louder than any small bodied acoustic bass I have come across, its certainly got a lot more warmth and bottom end as well. I woudn't want to put it up against a kit but that said - a little busking amp would give it enough to cut through most things at the low end. Dimensions Total Length = 49 inches Width at widest point of body = 21 inches Depth = 5 inches. Cheers Gray
