am looking for an 8 ohm 2x15 bass cab..... 300watts rms +
when i hit the google button i get loads of PA cabs
would these be ok as bass cabs as many bass 2x15`s have a horn as do the pa cabs?
not worried abouth the horn (ooer missus) as i will buy a 2x10/4x10 later on when funds allow
i intend to power the cabs with the hartke lh500
although I haven't played with Alex's Big One yet but am looking forward to it very much..
i bet alex is too -
back in the day when i first joined a band i started of with a carlsbro 150 watt head put through a 1 x 18 reflex bin (you know, the one where the speaker is back to front)
very bassy, not much treble, but that suited my sound at the time
am now playing through a hartke 100 watt combo, great for rehearsal and smaller gigs but am thinking of getting a more powerful head and cab/cabs rig
am thinking of getting a 4 x 10 for the top end and possibly a 2 x 15 for bottom, as i have used before and liked a lot, but am also considering a 1 x 18 instead
have read about lots of different combinations on here with 15`s,12`s, 10`s.......but dont remember 18`s being mentioned much (i have the memory of a goldfish though ) -
anything from the two paul young albums......
Pots come in two shaft sizes - metric is 6mm and imperial is 6.35mm. I often try and put the wrong knob on the wrong type of pot.
Axesrus carry both types and will tell you which is which before you buy.
cheers for link
now i cant make my mind up, domed or flat top -
straight shaft or serrated?
FWIW..... this will be my first rig (normally play through combo) and would expect to upgrade cabs in the future as my (covers) band progresses
